Title: Scripts or Add-ins?

What is the difference between scripts and add-ons? They both extend EA using the API.

When is it better to use scripts and when add-ins?

I did a talk yesterday about this at the EA Usergroup event in London.

There's a list of pro's and cons for each.

Thanks a lot. I downloaded the trial version of E-Matic. It seems to save time for those who are not familiar with API of EA events.

Not only that, it is also the ONLY way to use the EA events in the scripting environment, regardless of how familiar you are to those events.

Unless of course they want to implement their own solution that uses the same techniques as yours.

Yes, of course, unless you make an add-in such as EA-Matic yourself (which is entirely possible given that I developed it as an open source solution)  :D
