I wanted to store adapted UML profiles by creating a new MDG Technology File. At the point in the MDG Technology Creation Wizard, where i am selected the profiles, i select a Directory and nothing is available.
I don't know, whether I do something wrong or this is a bug
Any Suggestions?
Thanks

Sorry to ask the obvious, but are there any profiles in the directory you selected?
Profiles will be xml files and it may force the root element of the document to be a UMLProfile.
It works if I have a valid profile in the directory I've selected. You can get some existing profiles from http://sparxsystems.com.au/resources/developers/uml_profiles.html to try.

Hi Simon,
I tested the affair also with the profiles of Sparx. Same result - no files available. At present I can create only empty MDG Technology files. :'(
Thanks

Supplement:
Only the "Adding of profiles dialogue" does not function. All other dialogues (e.g. Patterns) are oK
Thanks again

I've done a bit of digging (and asking) and now have a reason why nothing is showing up.
The wizard is enforcing uml2 style profiles. This is because the profiles before EA 4.0 are not fully compatible with MDG Technology files.
What this means:
If you are the author of the profiles you want to include, make sure that you are exporting it as UML 2.0, not EA Pre-4.0.
If you aren't the author, then you'll need to see if you can get the author to provide one for UML 2.0.
Additional note:
The profiles that are at the link I provided in my previous post were actually written before EA 4.0, and are not UML 2.0 profiles.

Hi Simon,
thanks for the reference. I will try it with UML 2 conformal profiles
