Title: "Date and Time" in RTF Template is always actual?

Hello,

I have a question concerning the treatment of "Date and Time" fields in RTF Templates. Upon report generation, MS Word always treats these fields as actual date and time.
Is there a way to change the type of the date field to represent the generation date of the report instead? Or is there an other way to get the generation date into the template?

I found a work around:
To embed the creation date of a report (or probably any other type of MS word data field) as field into an RTF template, simply create the field outside EA in an external word document (.doc) via MS Word, mark the field there and copy it into the EA template editor. The editor realizes that it is a field and expands it according to MS Word's field definition:

Hi,

i know this is an old post, but i have the same problem.

Is there another solution for this issue? I want to display the generation date of the document.

The Date Field always show the current date.
The workaround with "createdate" always shows the date of the creation of the template.

At a guess, go into the Advanced tab in the generation dialog and check 'Overwrite document fields'.

It could be that the field EA has inserted represents the current time.  If you overwrite that field with the appropriate text it should remain as that date.

Thanks for your reply, but the "Overwrite document fields" function doesn't have any effect on the date field.
Seems that it only overwrites fields like {Pkg.Name} and so on.

Looks like the RTF generator "destroys" this field. Its not possible to update it in word.

(Using EA Version 7.0.818)
