Title: TaggedValues disappear from v7.5 to v8

I, and several of my co-workers, have just upgraded to v8 (from v7.x). When we opened a v7.x EAP file in v8, the tagged values assigned to association links have disappeared!  We are working with a big class model and really don't want to have to rebuild all our tagged values.  If this problem cannot be solved, I am reinstalling version 7 and want my money back from the version 8 'upgrade'.  >:(

PS. Note also that tagged values assigned to class attributes in version 7 will display in a version 8 "Tagged Values" window pane, but will not display in the "Tagged Values" tab of the class attributes dialog.  Why?

Have you formally reported the bug?

I can confirm that the taggedValues tab of the attributes doesn't show the tagged values (as opposed to the tagged values docked window)

For relations I still see the tagged values, but the content is missing.
The tagged values I'm talking about are using RefGUID as type, so they should show the name of the linked item (operation in my case). Once I click on the [...] button (and press cancel right away) the names are displayed. Must be a lazy loading issue I guess.

The tagged values which have disappeared for me are 'sequenceNumber' and 'inlineOrByReference'.

This has been officially logged as a bug.  It is caused by a fault in the XMI export function which I use in checking packages in and out of a subversion.  From Simon at Sparx support:

"We have now been able to reproduce both the issues you described.
 
Regarding the connector role tags.  This appears to be an issue with the XMI export in EA 8.0.  Looking at an XMI export from EA 8.0, the role tagged value data is not included, therefore if the XMI is imported back into the model these tagged values are removed (this includes XMI export/imports which occur when checking in/out Version Controlled packages).  We have logged this as a bug to be fixed.

I will follow this up our developers to ensure it is treated with high priority and we will let you know we have any updates on a fix.  I was not able to identify any workaround for this issue while using EA 8.0.  Testing with a different XMI format the same issue occurred.  I would recommend you continue to use EA 7.5 for the time being.
 
Regarding the Attribute Tags not being displayed.  It seems this issue only occurs when the Attribute's Class is locked (either due to Version Control, or EA's Security options).  If the element is unlocked the tags appear ok.  This issue has been reported by another user previously and is currently logged to be fixed.

I had also mentioned an issue when changing the "Show Duplicate Tags" or "Show Fully Qualified Tags" options on the Attribute Tagged Values Tab.  This appears to be unrelated to the issue mentioned above.  I have logged it as a separate bug to be fixed (Ref: 10065920)"

This is a serious bug.
I'm happy we haven't upgraded to 8.0 yet (because of some other minor issues)

I suspect Sparx realises the importance of this bug and will release an emergency release in the next few days.

Just going to confirm that Sparx Systems does realize the severity of this issue and a new release will be made very soon.

This issue effects tagged values on association ends and operation parameters when going through XMI export/import.  It is my belief that this will effect only a minority of users, and that most users can still use 8.0 without issue.

But we don't KNOW because everything is so secretive....

Given the lack of priority give to other serious (though NOT as deadly as data loss) bugs, who knows?

It would be nice if they issued alerts to registered customers...

It would be nicer still if they provided a list of fixes in process and the stage they were at. We've already shouted into the wind about that one several times though.

Build 857 has been released with a fix for this issue.
(haven't tested it myself)
