Title: Wan Optimizer: Server error
Post by: Zeeker on March 17, 2011, 04:35:32 am
Hi,
We just installed the Wan Optimizer and configured the client with server name and port number.
But when connecting I get an error saying "WAN OPTIMIZER: Server Error - The database manager for the requested repository has been shutdown"
The client then open up the model but without any performance improvments.

I have no idea were to start... I mean the database is up and running elsewise I would not be able to connect.

Anyone with an idea?

Although I am not able to help with your question I wonder if I would ask you a quick question as one of the few poeple I can find who has used the WAN Optimizer.

I have it running on a server connected to an Oracle DB this is fine.   I am useing Version 8 EA but I cannot find out how to connect the client app to the WAN Analyzer.

I tired open project, connect to server.   then I selected the oracle DB provider.  My question question is what do I need to add to this dialog as I dont intent to use it.

On the next dialog I get the option to enter the WAN location which I try to do.   However at this point it repeatly asks me for a password then after 3 attempts fails to connect.

Can I ask how you setup the connection to the WAN Analyzer?
 and selected LAN

Hi,
That's exactly how I do it (but with SQL Server).
We use the Windows authentication and I have no problem to get past this stage.
