General Board / Re: How to autom.open at start the last opened dia

Thank you very much!  That solved it!  It may not be the ideal way to do it, but as long as it works, I'm happy.  :)

If someone happens to Make Model Default on a diagram, how do you "Undo" it if you don't want it to open to any default diagram?

Someone set a diagram for the model and we want to have it go back to defaulting to the start page when people log in.  Is there a way to reset it back to not having a default?

Thanks!

  • Create a new diagram.
  • Set it as a model default.
  • Delete this diagram.
This a peace of so called EAUI   ::)

Thank you to Peter.Zrnko from the other post.  :)

Bugs and Issues / Re: Getting an error trying to uninstall version 7
« on: April 16, 2009, 12:15:12 pm »
FYI, I went to the Microsoft website and downloaded Windows Install Clean up.  I ran that and tried to re-install again and received a different (internal error 2753 EA.exe) error.  I then uninstalled 7.5.  The re-install didn't work, so I un-installed again, cleaned the registry, removed the Sparx files and then re-installed.  It worked this time.

I'm leaving this up here in case someone else has this kind of problem.  Otherwise, please feel free to remove from the forum.

Bugs and Issues / Getting an error trying to uninstall version 7.1
« on: April 16, 2009, 10:23:12 am »
Our architect requested me to install version 7.5 today so I can run through it and provide a high level test prior to giving the go ahead to our IT staff to get everyone upgraded.  He downloaded the full version and I grabbed a copy off his shared folder.  When I tried to run it, I get the following message:

The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package.

I can browse to find it, but I have no idea where it would be.  If I click OK then I get a message stating it can't find the <really big name>.MSI file.

I tried to use CCleaner to remove it, however, I get the same issue there.  I also get the same issue if I just go to add/remove programs.

I do recall getting a similar message when installing 7.1 the first time.  I did re-install, however, it was giving me the same message.  I remember that I could get into the app and it "appeared to upgrade" as the Help / About did indicate the correct version.  I've been working with it with very few problems since last year.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get 7.1 uninstalled so that I can install the new version?  (PS - I'm using XP SP3 and I did try to register the DAO350.DLL file on a whim to see if the basic things would work.)  If I can't get this resolved tonight, I can have our IT staff put in a bug report tomorrow if need be (they have the logins to the site).

Thanks!  Liz
