Thank you again, but I`m still not happy. I tried the manual way as suggested but the third step: "Change instance to class (element/advanced/change...) can`t be solved.
There is nowhere a button to change the instance to class! The only progress I reached with your last advice is that I`m now able to locate the instance in the diagram and find the classifier in the project browser (both highlighted) but I do not know how to change them vice versa.

Yes, I do mean class and instance! Skripting is no option at the moment due to the fact that it is not me profession, so I followed the other advice. With the discribed manual steps I only was able to change the appearance of the element but not the class or instance relation. Sorry, but the reply above is not very helpful so I need further information, please.

Is it possible to exchange the relationship between child and parent of an element? I would like to switch a parent element and its copied child (instance of element) so that the child becomes the parent and vice versa. The background is as follows, I have a detailed diagram of a complex system and need to modulate its less abstract layers / views, "backward engineering“, if you want to give it a name.

Thanks for the reply, but is there a possibility to get more detailed information? Because I couldn`t find such configuration dialog to change certain settings to enable the EA to import the source ID out of DOORS.

I have successfully imported DOORS requirements into EA via the MDG-Link for DOORS, too. I thought that the MDG-Link would transfer every information (belonging to a certain requirement) located in the DOORS-Database but it seems that I was wrong. I imported requirements via the MDG-Link and everything went right during the process, but when I looked at the (imported) properties I realized, that the “Object Identifier” was copied and not the expected “Source –ID”, which only is traceable through the hole developing process. So the problem would be a possible inconsistence in case of changes to the original database in DOORS. This of course is a “no way- criteria” due to a possible implementation of the EA to our developing process. So my question referring to this issue is: “Why does the MDG-Link for DOORS import the “Object Identifier” and not the “Source-ID” of an requirement and how can I fix that”?

Hi folks, I am new in this forum and I´m also a newbie in using the EA functions, so I wanna know if it is possible to generate a requirement diagramm automatically from imported requirements (via MDG-Link for DOORS).

Beforehand, thanks a lott for replies !
