Hello Mike,

This is a known issue with some external EMF viewers.

Please try Tools->Options->Objects->Invert rotated text for metafiles.

howdy bruce,

on a related note, we've added a related feature in 6.5 - all*  the toolbox items are now available from the ctrl + right click menu.

Associations IsDerived property is accessible from the Advanced->Custom Properties section of the context menu.

I believe there are plans to have these Custom Properties incorporated into the main specification dialogs.   Not sure when however.

like a little anthropomorphic paper clip, I was hoping just to swing past the thread and with a tip :)

I've noted the inconsistency, we'll take your suggestions into consideration for our next few builds.

cheers,

JFYI:  expand/collapse menu items are found in the "contents" submenu.

also a wee tip:

the '+', '-', and '*' keys on the numeric keypad may be used to expand, collapse,  and expand all respectively.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Native Visio diagram import
« on: April 27, 2006, 05:24:55 pm »
Hello David,

We're currently working on an addin to import Visio documents.

As the documentation for the vsd file format isn't available (and we don't intend to reverse engineer it :o) we won't be importing vsd binaries.   Instead, our importer will make best efforts to import diagrams using a combination of Visio's XMI output and its automation interface.

The addin will be available in approximately 1 month.

We would love to hear feedback that would help us address what our users specific needs are.

Ash :)

FWIW:  I'm still waiting (hopefully) for a fix on the reflexive association issue.  I hope the EA product isn't getting too large for them to support properly.

Hi Jim,

I'm currently working on improving reflexive paths.  The new functionality will be available in 6.5.

Hi Malmoth,

You can do this by setting up a template package.  For instructions, please read http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/EAUserGuide/defaultelementtemplates.htm

If you are going to create the navigator window, you actually need two sub windows...

Hi Paolo,

We've pretty much completed the overview window just as you have described - we're currently giving it a good test run here.

I like your suggestion for the detail views, IMO would be really useful... can't commit that it will be implemented with the overview though.

Just a wee FYI:

In 787 zooming will center on the selected node (will include paths in the next build).

Also we're adding the aforementioned little navigation window - should be available within a couple of builds, perhaps even the next one.
