Hi wmather

Sorry to hear about your negative posts and thanks for letting me know.
Now that I know that you understand ERP it should be very easy for you to follow the eBook.
ERP system are complex systems and tried my best for the reader to follow it.

The eBook explains how to set up EA repository for one functional module or more of an ERP system.
It also explains step by step how to create a requirement diagram, a use case with all it's path, linking
requirement to use cases and more. Followed the SOP writing process.
All these steps above make reference to specific placeholder of the generated output.

All the naming convention, use case hints, activity diagram hints, color scheme hints and all other hints
are my personal preferences that I have gathered in my 25 years of experience in the IT industry
and 15 years using EA, hopping they will be very helpful.

As you said there are not "some hidden gems", but a lot of hidden gems in the document and I tried to show them the best I can.
If you need any help do not hesitate to contact me, and I will be very happy to point them out.
Any feedback to make the eBook better are always welcome, you can contact me directly to

Thanks Roy for your kind words, but I tried to give the reader a simple way to follow EA after they have had
some practice or used EA and looked at the Help files.

Thanks for your kind words.
Inventory Control TDD is a work in Progress, soon the first release will be published.
This TDD will be a short version, not as big as the BRD.

There is a way to do all that and is after creating these packages, you want to include them in your Master Template, I explain all this with detail how to do it.
It will be a long thread explaining all the detail you need to know as a Novice User of EA.
Look at my eBook "UML-ERP Workshop - Writing a Business Requirement Document with EA" for further information at

Best regards

General Board / Re: User Interface models to Html?
« on: September 16, 2016, 11:54:53 pm »

Long time ago I uses Screen Architect (EA Add on)  where you design the UI and it will export the HTML.
Don't know if it still supported but it is a good tool and it did what it was designed to do.

The divide works perfectly, try exporting to RTF and then load it to word.
It should work.

General Board / MariaDB suuport
« on: June 21, 2016, 08:50:33 am »
Hi All

After playing with MariaDB for several hours and is so similar to MySql.

Did all my steps to install MariaDB, downloaded and ODBC Driver 2.0.11 win 32, run the scrips at the MariaDB Server to create empty EA Tables.
All OK, have connection to the DB Server.

When I did the last step:
Project | Data Management | Project Transfer, I get an error message:

"The selected target database driver is not supported by EA"

I see that MariaDB is not supported. But looking at the similarity of MySQL and MariaDB I though it would do the transfer.

Any help can be appreciated.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Business Rules Modelling Support in EA
« on: June 14, 2016, 09:06:31 am »

I am too in the same position as all of you and I pay for a Corporate license and have been responsible for influencing a significant number of organizations to adopt EA as a modelling solution. Corporate is my limit and meets 100% of my needs.

I have adapted the Corporate edition to manage all my business rules and have adapted the same methodology to all these organizations that I have worked with, if I recall only two of those organizations have purchased 200 and 150 Corporate  licenses in one purchase each.

There is a way to do it, not as sophisticated as EA does it with tables, but it does the work and my clients have loved it.
How I did it, is all explained in my eBook, it will be a long thread if I would explain it here.
Get the eBook to find out.

Have been following the thread and I know what you are going through, I specially like to manually number my requirements.
Have used RaQuest and DOORS and both are good tools, but you don't need them to start with; EA manages requirements very good.
Is good to hire a consultant like Qwerty just posted, but if you don't want to spend a lot just buy my book and it shows you how to do all you are asking here.

UML - ERP Workshop, writing a Business Requirement Document for the Inventory Control.
This can be applied to any system I just used my own system which has a one module of of 9 named "Inventory Control"
Happy reading.
