General Board / Collaboration with business on EA
« on: September 29, 2016, 01:37:21 am »
We have a need to model a registry, where we can maintain relationships between documented and co-dependent application services, technical services, business services, and domains. This feels like something we can do in EA.
However, once we have it modelled out, we also need to:
1. Publish sections out to technical & business peers (latter of whom typically glaze over, and quietly pass out, when presented with 'technical' diagrams)
2. Allow peers to comment, or contribute
3. Moderate/ govern entries into the model
4. Analyse (or RAG-status) services based on defined qualities of service
Do you know how we can achieve this with EA, or are there other tools that will work with EA to make this happen, please?
Any guidance appreciated.

General Board / Not getting the 'Paste' dialog box
« on: February 25, 2014, 11:56:32 pm »
As per the, I should be getting a dialog box when I drag an element into a sequence diagram. However, what I see is that an instance gets created by default, without any dialog box, and I get only the 'Structural Elements' dialog box (even though the element in question does not have child elements). What I'd like is to be able to decide whether an instance gets created or not, which seems to be how the 'paste' dialog should work, but I'm not getting the option. Am I missing some configuration entry? Any help would be appreciated.

I am using Sparx Enterprise Architect 10.0.1006, Ultimate Edition

Bugs and Issues / BSD when generating PDF
« on: October 07, 2014, 07:42:06 pm »
When generating a PDF from EA (10.0.1010, build 1010, Database version 4.01), I get a blue screen of death.
I am on 32 bit Win 7 Enterprise, Intel i5, 4GB RAM.
Does anyone know what could be causing this, and is there a resolution available, please?
