Suggestions and Requests / Zicom Mentor
« on: November 06, 2003, 06:25:20 am »
Just got Zicom Mentor, and like it, but it could be a little better. Wouldn't it be nice if...
1) When you right-click in EA on Zicom it always pops up to the front (after the first time focus remains on EA)
2) There were more papers from the EA site
3) Things like "artifact"s had a mention in it

Suggestions and Requests / Collaboration diagrams
« on: April 08, 2003, 07:01:30 am »
In build 3.51/600 on the collaboration diagram, if I miss out a message and add it later it would be nice to have the numbering part of that set, rather than simply the next number available on the page. So if I want it in set 1.*, but I have got to set 4.*, the new message goes into 4.* set. Or have I simply not discovered how to do this? A number of us tried but could not. I should say we are newcomers to EA.

General Board / Versioning out to CVS
« on: November 11, 2003, 03:53:42 am »
We are running the Corporate edition into a MySQL database, with SCCS provided using Jalindi Igloo into pserver CVS (not just for EA, works fine elsewhere).

I am trying to use version control to save releases. I can create packages into version control and see the XML files turn up in the correct place for CVS. But the Project/Version Control submenu grays out the Set Version Control Options and Start Version Control Explorer once they are set up so they can never be changed or stopped. Further, the browser right-click Package Control submenu has virtually all the options (except Configure, Update Package Status and Set Namespace Root) grayed out. Little seems to work fully.

Am I missing some crucial concept here? Should this work as I expect?

General Board / EA html document generation
« on: June 23, 2003, 08:35:42 am »
Hi, I need to generate HTML documentation for EA projects, but when I do it is readable in only some browsers (IE6, but not Opera7.1, for example) and validation with validator.w3.org seems to fail.

I am using right-click in the project browser to get Documentation->HTML Documentation.

This could well be something I am not doing right or have configured wrong, can anyone give me a pointer?

???

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Project Documentation

We link in our HTML docs into the structure via the file link in the components. Anyone looked at parsing the XML output to create auto-generated docs, perhaps using a selection control script?
