I had tried this before posting a thread but it didn't seem to work:

Code: [Select]
  <Tag name="NAME" type="CheckList" description="" unit="" values="A,B,C" default="A"/>

still single selection.

I've added Enumeration class as a new tagged value to my custom stereotype in an MDG I'm creating. How do I make this tagged value a checkilst (multiple selection) instead of single select? Should I change the type of Tag?

At the moment it looks like this in an XML file:
Code: [Select]
<Tag name="NAME" type="enumeration" description="" unit="" values="A,B,C" default="A"/>
Thank you in advance.

Is it true, that changes in quick linkers require application restart? I found this the only way to have them working, but it's extremely convenient to say the least. Is there any attribute to be switched on to change this?

Hi Geert,

Thank you very much for a quick response. It seems that sparx will never stop to amazing me :) Setting default color resolved the problem. But here is the story.

When you are extending custom stereotype, like Archimate you get:
 - the right color in a toolbox
 - the right icon in an element on a diagram
 - the right shape on a diagram
but not the right color on a diagram.

Another funny thing is how you set up the right color. Instead of some special attribute on the element in your profile you need to choose it from the context menu and actually set up the default color of the inherited stereotype. Same with page order in a toolbox, instead of special attribute you're using Z-order from the context menu. Why this is must be so complicated? :)

Anyway thanks again for the prompt answer and maybe one more question.

Is there any other way to see the results of profile changes than:
1. Exporting profile + toolbox
2. Creating MDG (with the profile and the toolbox)
3. Importing MDG to a model

P.S. I hope that I'm extending Archimate stereotype correctly. Base metaclass is used when you want to add your extended stereotype to a toolbox (another unexpected behavior).

I've seen that creating custom MDG on top of Archimate has been quite popular topic lately.  Hope you could help me as well.

I'm creating custom MDG for my architecture metamodel on top of Archimate3. So far it's been good, I've manage to extend stereotypes with some predefined tagged values and additional attributes. Then I moved onto toolbox, managed to create pages and assign my new objects to it. Objects work fine, I can add them to a diagram. They even have Archimate3 icons.

The problem is, however, withe their colors. Although icons are inherited from Archimate3 colors seem to be inherited from UML standard. Am I doing something wrong or is it a known "feature"/misconception?

See the picture below in case I didn't describe the problem clearly:

fkeefe: can you write a bit more about your configuration?

In which region is your RDS located?
What RDS type are you using (oracle, mysql, ...)?
Where are your useres locacted?
Do you have ea cloud service installed (as Simon mentioned it significantly improves performance, and in addition your gaining more convenient log-in)
How big is the repository?

@tzafrir: I'm guessing that SO stands for

Dear Sparx,

Any chance this request is ever addressed? It looks like I'm not the only one thinking this is an important feature. Please at least tell us whether you're ever planning to address it or not.

Anyone knows if there is an official feature request list where I could check if this one is registered?

count me in.
Please submit the feature request, happy to also re-request

I have submited a feature request. Will let you know when I got some reply.

Thank you all for supporting this one.

custom icons would be ver, very nice

Totally agree with custom icons. I'm not a designer so didn't want to draw so it doesn't look ridiculously :)

Suggestions and Requests / Linked document icon in Project Browser

I want to send an official feature request but firstly I would like to collect your opinion.

In one of my projects I have been using a lot of Linked Documents. The problem is that it is hard to investigate whether an object has or has not a Linked Document attached. You have to right-click an element to see if Linked Document has been attached.

And here is a solution - feature request. I would like each object which has the Linked Document attached to have a small icon on it. For example the same icon which is visualized when you put an object with Linked Document on a diagram.

And some pictures to visualize:

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on a topic.

General Board / Re: Java API problem

I've just managed to resolve this problem.

Instead of copying SSJavaCOM.dll from my Win7 computer I installed Enterprise Architect in Win 2012 Server and copied SSJavaCom.dll from installation folder on Win 2012 Server. I doubt that this helped. The most important part is that EA was installed.

It looks like Repository class requires IE to be installed.

Anyway, installing EA and using dll directly from Win 2012 Server helped. I hope this will help others as well.

I was able to open repository on Win7 Enterprise 64 bit using java 32 bit. However when I moved the code to Win2012 it's failing with the same error:

"Failed to construct object. Error code: 0x80040154"

Is there anything I'm doing wrong or maybe SSJavaCOM is not compatible with Win2012?

General Board / How to hide connector labels in a whole diagram
« on: March 10, 2015, 10:04:01 am »

I know that the problem has been discussed multiple times but I still can't fine the answer and I'm pretty sure I once did it but can't recall how.

So the problem is: when using Information flows through the diagram how to hide only "<<flow>> label and not the name of Information Flow object.

1. Diagram options -> Connector tab -> Suppress All Conector Labels doesn't work because it hiddens all labels.
2. Right click on Connector -> Visibility -> Set Label Visibility -> Middle Bottom Label (uncheck) works, but when having multiple connections it is so dummy to do it this way...
3. Right click on Label -> Hide Label is faster than option #2 but still requires manual click on every connector.

Is there any out of the box functionality to achieve that? Or maybe someone has written custom script to add this capability to Sparx EA?

Much appreciate for any help.
