Suggestions and Requests / Re: Relation matrix improvements
« on: December 10, 2007, 05:48:56 pm »
Regarding point number 2 filtering by stereotype.  If you define you stereotypes as an UML Profile then set the _metatype attribute equal to your desired stereotype name, then the stereotype will appear in the relationship matrix drop down selection.  This technique works for both elements and connectors.

The only thing you need to be really careful of is the naming of your stereotypes as width of the drop down select in the relationship matrix is very narrow.

Though not complete, OCL constraints are also discussed in the EA Help file under Model Validation

General Board / Sorting Stereotype Groups in EA 6 Beta
« on: November 09, 2005, 10:41:33 pm »
I am really like the grouping of stereotypes in EA 6.  However, I am struggling to find a way to adjust the sort order of the groups.   I have a class with 15 Attributes.  One attribute has a stereotype <<CON>> and the other 14 have a stereotype <>.   In my scenario, it is the attribute with stereotype <<CON>> that I deem the most important and would like this stereotype group to appear at top of the attribute compartment in a class diagram.  In the class attributes properties dialog box I have moved this attribute so that it is the first attribute.  However when I drag the class into a class diagram, the <> stereotype group appears first.  Does anyone know how to sort these stereotype groups?   Thanks in advance for your replies.

General Board / Re: Linking note to an element feature

Thanks  Fred for the comments.

I could imagine this functionality similar to what exists today in EA for requirements.

Thanks for the validation.  I have 5 constraints defined for each UseCase.  In a UseCase diagram, I was trying to show each one of them as a linked diagram note.  All I got was 5 note elements with the contents displayed but the reader of the diagram couldn't tell what the contents of these note elements related to.

I also tried the functionality of attaching a constraint (instead of attaching a note and linking it to an element feature) and it work well for diagram purposes, but approach seems to be semantically weak as this association doesn't appear in the details when a produce HTML documentation out of EA.

General Board / Linking note to an element feature
« on: May 04, 2005, 01:28:59 am »
On a diagram, EA has the ability to link a note to an element feature such as a constraint, tagged value, etc.  I getting this to work with no problems.  However, what I am difficulty doing is having the linked note display what element feature this note is link to.  Currently I can get it to only display the contents of the feature with no lable as was feature this content was pulled from.    I was hoping to to get something like this:
Constraint:<Pre-Condition>
#Contraint Contents#

Have I missed something simple here?

Thanks

I am trying to customise a Web Style Template to display the element stereotype as well as the element name in the table of contents frame (top left frame).  Does anyone know how to achieve this??

Thanks!!
