Yes!!!  I'm just working on my first project with EA and have needed this feature several times.

I look forward to seeing it added in a near-term update!?

General Board / Re: Use Case Metrics

Bruno & Thomas,

I find your discussion interesting.  I've only been using EA for 2 months and love it so far.  I recently began trying to use the estimation features and quickly discovered the problem Bruno alluded to about the complexity range for the Use Case elements.

Since the funtionality that is captured by a specific Use Case element is totally in the control of the modeller, it seems that a 3 value range of complexity (or a 5 value range when using Extended Complexity) is much too narrow.

Even in the first project that I attempted to estimate, the 11 Use Case elements all had to be considered having Easy Complexity, but it would be far more accurate to be able to assign intermediate values.  For example, since all 11 elements were considered easy based on the definitions provided, they all are assigned a value of 5 UUCP.  But this interprestation of "easy" is very relative and could produce inaccurate estimates.  Based on the element Complexity definitions, I would tend to assign these 11 elements with UUCP values that range from 1.5 to 6.5, noting that these values in the algorithm translate directly into development hours.

Does anyone know how to apply a more variable range of Complexity values to Use Case elements?

If Sparx were to change the field value from a text dropdown of 3 or 5 values to a numerical field with an allowed range of 0.0 to 30.0, this would fix this problem.  It would also allow the modeller to refine these values with experience.

I do realize that one could use the extended range of 5 values and then reduce the Default Hours per UCP to achieve a similar result.  But being able to assign a numerical Complexity value over a continuous range from 0 - 30 would give a more accurate result.

Would appreciate any comments on this!

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Automation Interface Installation

I just downloaded autintexe.zip, extracted the files into a directory, then launched setup to install.  During the install I get the following:

Install window stops with the following display:

Copying Files, please stand by.
Processing MSVBVM60.DLL (7 of 7)

Then, a Setup warning window opens with the following message:

Setup cannot continue because some system files are out of date on your system.  Click OK if you would like setup to update these files for you now.  You will need to restart Windows before you can run setup again.  Click cancel to exit setup without updating system files.

I have attemted to run setup 3 times, rebooting the system each time.  It's acting as though the last file is not being installed.

Has anyone else seen this problem?
