Suggestions and Requests / [Database Import] Save Log
« on: July 23, 2008, 03:59:45 pm »
Hello.
I'm currently doing some synchronisation jobs of my database. And it would be great if there would be a save button on the import-log window. Only "Import Succeed" is sent to the Ouput-window. I would like to know which tables are new (new ones start with 'importing' the others with 'synchronizing'). But the log window closes right after the import is finished.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Cleanup Unused Elements in Packages
« on: July 17, 2008, 04:59:33 pm »
Is there also a possibility to check if an element has a link to these orphans. Because not all interfaces are on my diagram, but the generalisation should not be deleted.

If I want to search for orphans I only receive this error:
OraOLEDB [-2147217900]
ORA-01795: maximum number of expressions in a list is 1000

Suggestions and Requests / Cleanup Unused Elements in Packages
« on: July 17, 2008, 12:50:25 am »
Hi.
Correct me if this feature exists. If you've got a lot of unused elements in your packages, you have to check each element if it is used in a Diagram (CTRL+U / Find in Diagram). If it is not used in any diagram, delete it.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: option: add "TODO" as PROJECT TASK
« on: August 06, 2007, 04:28:10 am »
Sure, this would be a very nice feature. I don't think it's hard to implement. They could add a new section in their parser. The Syntax would be like a C-Style single line comment only with TODO: at the beginning instead of //. It also would be possible to realize this trough the Automation-Interface. Make a form where the user can add files/directories. Iterate this Files and use regex or a parser to get the the TODO: lines. Then add the Text after Todo to a new task.

Suggestions and Requests / [RTF Documentation] Linked Documents
« on: August 03, 2007, 04:05:17 am »
Hi.
I've got following problem. I have got a package Solution with subpackages Module01, Module02,.. and a module-overview-diagram where the links to the module-packages are placed on. In the Diagram its possible to add linked documents to the Packages. But it's not possible to access this document through the package explorer or documentation-template. Is this document attached to the "diagram element"-package? Or is this feature only missing or a bug?

I've sent the bugreport.

Hello.
I've tried some workarounds but nothing worked. But there are a lot of bugs in this editor/generator. I tried to add a custom tag with the Name: TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u
This is the tag of Ms Word for a Table of Contents with the headings 1 to 3 and with hyperlinks. But the generator ignores the tag and its deleted in the final document. Very strange.

Suggestions and Requests / [RTF Documentation] No Images in headings.
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:34:49 pm »
Hi again.
I found a bug in the RTF template editor. If you have Images in your headings like:
[size=13][DIAGRAMION] Diagramname[/size]

And you insert a table-of-contents. All this headings are replaced by the first entry of the table-of contents. Very strange.

Suggestions and Requests / [RTF-Report-Templates] Additional Fields
« on: August 02, 2007, 12:01:26 am »
Hello.
It would be great if you add additional tags to the Templates. It would be perfect if you could implement something like in Word where you can setup formats which can be inserted in the document. For example a Tag for the TOC (to fix the bug with the headings), creation time / date of the document, author of the document which generates the document. So you could place a mark in the document like "generated by Danielku15 on 02.Aug.2007 / 11:00"

General Board / Re: [RTF Doc] RTF Text for each Diagram.
« on: July 18, 2008, 03:57:11 pm »
An how is it about the package order? Are packages printed alphabetically , as they are sorted in the repository or in the project tree. I've got an idea to solve my problem, but I neet a specific order for my packages / modules. Probably add a number to the package name for sorting.

General Board / [RTF Doc] RTF Text for each Diagram.
« on: July 17, 2008, 11:55:13 pm »
Hello.
I want to generate a documentation for all diagrams in my project. My problem is, that I want to add some RTF descriptions to each of my diagrams (not only notes) that it looks like this:
Quote
package>
1. Overview {Pkg.Name}
diagram>
{Diagram.RtfDescription}
{Diagram.Notes}
{Diagram.DiagramImg}
<diagram
<package

And in my RTF Description I want to add texts like this:
Quote
1.1 Diagramtitle
Some diagram description with a lot of information and formatting.

Combined, should it become a result like this:
Quote
1. Overview Package01
1.1 Diagram01
This diagram describes how to....
[IMG]
1.2 Diagram02
This is the class diagram to implement the features of Diagram01
[IMG]
2. Overview Package02
....

Is this possible? My idea was to add a "Document"-Element to each Diagram which contains the RTF Description. But I do not know if it's possible / how to include only the Contents of the "Document"-Element in the RTF file.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

You could do that through the Automation-Interface. I don't think EA has such a feature built in.
