Is there a way to generate a link using tagged values?

Something like this:
Link Text   {Element.valueOf(value1)}
Link Code{Element.valueOf(value1)}

Inserting a hyperlink with the above value just create a hyperlink named '{Element.valueOf(value1)}' pointing to '{Element.valueOf(value2)}'.
Ideally, when value1 is not set, the link is not created at all.

While browsing the forum, I noticed an option to link to elements using GUIDs.
However, no word on generating links like this.

How could this be accomplished?

Kind regards,

When elements are part of the package being documented, it is possible to use its requirements by enabling:
Package -> Element -> Requirement

To use a diagram as subset it is possible to use linked elements, and thus enable:
Package -> Diagram -> Element

Is it possible to somehow to get to the requirements of the elements in the diagram?
Thank you.

Kind regards,

General Board / Draw a 'hop' when links are crossing (like Visio)
« on: November 02, 2015, 08:14:02 pm »

How can I make EA draw a 'hop' when connectors/links are crossing each other?

Like so:

Drawing a big deployment diagram (or any) with a lot of links, it's easier to read when links cross or not.
Without loosing the ability to put connectors 'on top' of each other.

For example, see picture below:
- the links marked with the black circle are actually crossing
- the links without the circle all move in the same direction

How to do this?

General Board / Generate documentation - exclude tagged value
« on: April 17, 2015, 05:42:47 pm »

In the template, tagged values are added like this:
Code: [Select]
tagged value >
{ElementTagVal.Name} {ElementTagVal.Value}
< tagged value

However, multiple tagged values exists on my requirement objects which I don't always/all need in exported documents.

Is it possible to exclude tagged values from the generated documentation? If so, how?

Thank you,

General Board / Show Complexity on element in diagram
« on: April 10, 2015, 06:09:58 pm »
In the general settings of e.g. the Interface object of the UML deployment diagram, there is a standard property called Complexity.

I'd like to show that on the element in the diagram.
How can this be done?

Tagged values can be shown, but I rather not create a duplicate field.

Bugs and Issues / Status color shadow for derived element not drawn
« on: October 29, 2015, 06:47:24 pm »

When creating a new MDG technology and overriding e.g. a Class element into a derived element, the shadow of the derived element is not colored. Not that the derived element has its own ShapeScript to draw it.

If DrawNativeShape() is used, the rectangle including colored status is drawn. However for the custom shape the shadow is not colored.

Uml Process / Stereotype on Interface emptied?
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:39:07 pm »
When I set a value for Stereotype on an Interface, it is emptied.

I need to set a Stereotype to be able to change the symbol on the diagram to display the complexity. This works, however when the stereotype is emptied at file closure and reopening, I need to reset it everytime which is kinda time-consuming  ;)

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Shape script color status
« on: October 26, 2015, 10:18:03 pm »

I've extended the class to be able to draw a custom shape.
Now I'd like to add the Color Status feature. Looking in the documentation is says that the shadow should be colored according to the status the element has.

Trying this for Class in a UML Class diagram works flawlessly. However my from Class derived type is not drawing colored shadows.

How can this be enabled?
