I've added Enumeration class as a new tagged value to my custom stereotype in an MDG I'm creating. How do I make this tagged value a checkilst (multiple selection) instead of single select? Should I change the type of Tag?

At the moment it looks like this in an XML file:
Code: [Select]
<Tag name="NAME" type="enumeration" description="" unit="" values="A,B,C" default="A"/>
Thank you in advance.

Is it true, that changes in quick linkers require application restart? I found this the only way to have them working, but it's extremely convenient to say the least. Is there any attribute to be switched on to change this?

I've seen that creating custom MDG on top of Archimate has been quite popular topic lately.  Hope you could help me as well.

I'm creating custom MDG for my architecture metamodel on top of Archimate3. So far it's been good, I've manage to extend stereotypes with some predefined tagged values and additional attributes. Then I moved onto toolbox, managed to create pages and assign my new objects to it. Objects work fine, I can add them to a diagram. They even have Archimate3 icons.

The problem is, however, withe their colors. Although icons are inherited from Archimate3 colors seem to be inherited from UML standard. Am I doing something wrong or is it a known "feature"/misconception?

See the picture below in case I didn't describe the problem clearly:

Suggestions and Requests / Linked document icon in Project Browser
« on: October 25, 2012, 07:06:28 pm »

I want to send an official feature request but firstly I would like to collect your opinion.

In one of my projects I have been using a lot of Linked Documents. The problem is that it is hard to investigate whether an object has or has not a Linked Document attached. You have to right-click an element to see if Linked Document has been attached.

And here is a solution - feature request. I would like each object which has the Linked Document attached to have a small icon on it. For example the same icon which is visualized when you put an object with Linked Document on a diagram.

And some pictures to visualize:

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on a topic.

General Board / How to hide connector labels in a whole diagram
« on: March 10, 2015, 10:04:01 am »

I know that the problem has been discussed multiple times but I still can't fine the answer and I'm pretty sure I once did it but can't recall how.

So the problem is: when using Information flows through the diagram how to hide only "<<flow>> label and not the name of Information Flow object.

1. Diagram options -> Connector tab -> Suppress All Conector Labels doesn't work because it hiddens all labels.
2. Right click on Connector -> Visibility -> Set Label Visibility -> Middle Bottom Label (uncheck) works, but when having multiple connections it is so dummy to do it this way...
3. Right click on Label -> Hide Label is faster than option #2 but still requires manual click on every connector.

Is there any out of the box functionality to achieve that? Or maybe someone has written custom script to add this capability to Sparx EA?

Much appreciate for any help.

General Board / Class header colour

Does anybody know how to set class header color only, not the whole class. Here is what I wanna achieve:

Please, don't laugh if it's obvious feature :)

General Board / Linked document

Does Enterprise Architect allow (using out-of-the-box functionality, not a plugin) to visualize in "Project Browser" tree which element has "Linked Document" defined?

If EA doesn't have such feature than is there any plugin which has it.

General Board / BPMN Simulation
« on: September 26, 2012, 11:10:57 pm »

Documentation says: "In general, you do not need to set up a Simulation script (...) For most diagrams it is possible to start a simulation simply by opening the diagram of interest and pressing the "Play" button on the Simulation control window."

I would like to start simulation on "BPMN 2.0 - Business Process" model but a "Play" button is inactive. Do BPMN diagrams require Simulation scripts or is there a different reason of inactive "Play" button?

And one more thing. When I try to set up a simulation script I need to set a Platform: "For BPMN diagrams, click on the drop-down arrow and select BPMN.". Unfortunately I have only two options: "none" and "UML Basic". What could be a reason? (I have 935 build of EA).

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bugs and Issues / Project security
« on: July 08, 2014, 02:30:00 am »

I migrated old reposiotry created in EA 10 from one DBMS to another DBMS but using EA 11. Now only users that use EA11 can log into repository. Users  using EA10 can't even though they are configured in Security Users.

Removing and adding user doesn't help. Changing password neither.

Can anybody help with this? Do I have to change something manually in EA DB in order to allow users with EA 10 access to the repository?

Best regards,

Is it possible to open Element usage window from Script? Or something similar.

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / Information flow
« on: March 17, 2015, 02:08:09 pm »
Hi all,

I know that there are numerous threads around this but I still didn't find the answer I'm looking for.

I'm trying to write a script which after clicking on an object in Project Browser will show all connectors where this object was used as an Information Item.

One possible way would, which I really don't like due to low efficiency, will be to list all connectors in the repository, then for each of them call connector.ConveyedItems function, and verify which connector has the object in it's ConveyedItems collection.

Do you know any other solutions?
