General Board / Re: Changing properties of multiple selected eleme

the list view does indeed make it a lot easier to 'bulk' change a property. Thanx for the tip!

General Board / Changing properties of multiple selected elements
« on: April 29, 2014, 07:53:29 pm »

I would like to know if there's a way to change a property of multiple selected elements at once. In my specific case I want to change the stereotype of a number of use cases in one go, instead of having to open the properties page of each use case separately.

Thanx in advance

General Board / compare without baseline
« on: April 24, 2014, 05:52:58 pm »
I am working on a project in which several copies of the same EA element (say a Class) has been placed in more than one package. Not very effective from a version control PoV, I admit, but that's how it is. >:(

What I'm looking for is a way to compare those elements across the packages to see where differences have emerged. To complicate things we have not created a baseline :-/. Any suggestions as how to go about this?

Thanx in advance...

General Board / Re: Export/import XMI loses Realization links
« on: March 06, 2013, 02:35:24 am »
What I forgot to mention is that this issue occurs using version 7.3. My company is currently thinking of upgarding to version 10 so it would be great if this bug is somehow fixed in version 10!

General Board / Export/import XMI loses Realization links
« on: March 05, 2013, 12:01:38 am »
When I do an XMI export from one EAP and import it into another EAP, it looks as though the realization relationships between various objects (e.g. between requirement and business rules) are lost in the process.

Has anyone experienced the same problem and if so, is there a way to prevent this from happening?

General Board / add package to favorites?
« on: August 14, 2013, 06:05:58 pm »

My team is working with a rather large EAP, divided into a great number of packages. At any given time I'll be working on just one or two packages. I wondered if there's a way to quickly jump to those packages instead of using search or scroll my way through the entire project? I've tried adding a package to the Favorites folder (under Resources) by drag-and-drop, but this doesn't seem to work.

Any thoughts?

General Board / Generating RTF reports
« on: August 02, 2013, 07:43:14 pm »

I have a couple of questions concerning RTF reporting:

1) In the template I'm using I've defined the TOC headings as Calibri, but in the generated RTF they come out as Arial.
2) It would be great if somehow I could turn the pagenumbers in the TOC into hyperlinks, so that when I open the generated document in Word I can jump from the TOC to the right page...
3) Elements without any content are often followed by some paragraph markers and empty spaces. However these don't show in the template. Ofcourse I could filter those elements out, but I'd rather not. I do want to get rid of those pesky extra paragraph markers en spaces....

Any help and/or suggestions on either question would be greatly appreciated! ;D

General Board / Hide/show BPMN elements in project browser
« on: June 17, 2013, 11:33:32 pm »

I'm creating a lot of BPMN diagrams and as the list grows my project browser is getting crowded and less easy to read. I would rather see just the activities and actions listed, then to have all the start- and endnotes and gateways displayed as well. Is there a way to toglle a hide/show setting on these elements?

I know that I can (or should) define the start- and endnotes once and then reuse them....

General Board / translating attributes to activity parameters
« on: May 21, 2013, 10:45:58 pm »
I'm trying to translate or convert attributes to parameters in an activity. Dragging an attribute onto an activity doesn't work, as fas as I know. Maybe someone out there knows a clever way to do this, rather than to go hacking the XMI files. ;D

General Board / Pasting screenprints a problem?
« on: May 03, 2013, 08:02:54 pm »
Does anyone else have the feeling that pasting screenprints instead of creating Screen objects might cause problems for EA (e.g. slowing down the generation of HTML output)?

General Board / Pasting screenprints problem for XMI export/import
« on: April 24, 2013, 10:14:44 pm »
After I've done an XMI export/import from one EAP to another it turns out that some screenprints have been altered or replaced by others. In this case the screenprints are pasted into boundary objects, and the overlayed on top of a screen object,

Is it known that EA has problems coping with screenprints, which are copied and pasted onto an object?

I know from own experience that, in other applications, embedded screenprints can become quite large objects.

General Board / Re: Sorting elements on a digram

@SimonM: works like a charm.. Cheers! ;)

General Board / Sorting elements on a digram
« on: April 23, 2013, 06:54:26 pm »
is there anyway to sort elements on diagram, e.g. based on their automatically assigned number? The project browser has a "Reset sort order" function for packages, but I can't find anything like that for diagrams. Note that I'm not talking about auto-lay-outing a diagram, but simply to sort a few requirements on a Requirements diagram.

got it working now: something to do with to few closing brackets... ;D

thanx again!

this looks really good.. Unfortunately I'm getting an "error in FROM clause' when I'm trying to run the query in EA...
