Bugs and Issues / Chart (Pie,..) black, also in example model

Hi,

the charts in the EA - Example model and in my own are black. Refresh don't help. Creating a new one leads to the same result.

I know that some time ago they properly rendered. I even tried to make a new model and a lot more.

Are there any experiences or workaround.

I found in the forum the same issue with the promise of further information:

Bugs and Issues / rtf documentation, template, can' edit test section below element, V12.1

Hi,

I tried to insert 'Test' as a section below of element. It works but it is not editable (yellow constant with text to replace it, but it don't work). I only get the not changeable default.

If I tried the same below Package it works as expected.

Has someone experience with such behavior?

Well one workaround is to copy an existing template where the behavior is ok. But may be there is another tip.

Hi,

i tried <<testcase>> with Specification Manager and autocounter. It don't work. Requirements, <<testset><<testsuite>> works fine.

In a package creating new <<testcase>> without Specification manager also works fine.

Looks peculiar.

is there a way to open the Specification Manager by API for a Package?

I have also tried to open the Specification Manger by Hyperlink for a package. I found no solution.

May be I have missed something or there is trick.

Hi,

fuzzy input with autocomplete is a powerful feature not only in Google but also in a lot of current tools (e.g. Editor atom).

I would like such a feature:

• Autocomplete
• Fuzzy find

in

• Search
• Inserting an item (picker)
• Everywhere where you can choose something

I know a 30 year old case tool, CASE/4/0, which supported such feature in a lot of input situations. It was amzing in every day work. Misspelling, no problem. They managed it with the CPU power 30 years ago. I asked about the algorithm and they told it me (very easy, just comparing the amount of matching characters or so).

Just remember your browser and its autocomplete / suggesting method.

is there a way to get all currently active searches for the repository and current user?

All *.xml files and look which technology is loaded could be a way.

The standard EA Model Searches?

Has someone knowhow?

Bugs and Issues / Database Builder, error creating a Firebird database

Hi,

when I create a Firebird database with EA Database Builder I get the error dialog box with the beneath message and no Firebird database is created:
Windows cannot find 'Firebird\isql_embed.exe' Make sure ....

The file exists in EA\Firebird\

Could it be:
EA uses the embedded release of Firebird and I have installed Firebird (full) and FlameRobin a nice Firebird SQL/Administration tool?

Bugs and Issues / DatabaseBuilder and SQL Server

Hi,

I created two tables in EA for SQL Server.

With DataBase Builder I compared them with existing database and generated script, executed script. I found the tables as expected.

Then I tried to compare once more EA tables with database tables. No database tables found by Database Builder.

Generating with Database Builder of the tables failed because they were existing (correct).

But why doesn't find the compare database with EA the tables?

Bugs and Issues / Firebird and Database Builder EA 12.1

Hi,

I tried Database Builder for Firebird. I got some issues:

1. With DB connection of type Firebird the connection doesn't run and there was no error in dberr.txt
Error: An error occured while connecting to ODBC, please check the settings (there are no settings)
If I use odbc it works just fine

2. If I compare Firebird database with EA model I get differences
EA: Characterset+Collation: none
ODBC: Characterset+Collation: UTF8

I can't see any possibility to set Characterset+Collation in EA.


Has someone experience with Firebird and EA Database Builder?

Suggestions and Requests / Run Addin in contex from Model Search

Hi,

it would be a good idea to run an Addin from the context menu of the Model Search window.
If there would also be an easy way to determine the selected elements one can combine the power of  Addin with the power of Model search.

For the selected elements there is a workaround with the clipboard.

it's inconvinient to invoke an often used addin or script by Context Menu, Extension, Addin-Name, Function.

It would be great to invoke an often used functionality by a simple mouse click or a key.

Suggestions and Requests / Open EA with last Diagram & selected element

Hello,

it would be great if EA starts with the last opened diagram and the last selected element.

I made me an addin and it helps to have things like this.

Also easy to use bookmarks to diagrams, packages or elements would be great.

A history would also don't do harm (e.g. Geerts Navigator).
