I tried it with *.eap (JET 4) and SQL Server. It works fine.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Problems with Rendering Diagrams
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:33:34 am »
Hi,

I had also had rendering problems. On XP / Windows 7 everything was fine. Every computer shows the diagrams well.

Diagrams in Windows 8 are looking very bad.

With EA 11 rc1 these problems seems to vanish.

Hello,

if you import source code EA updates the filename property.

It's up to you to fill an empty filename. Click the three dots.

Hello,

it's no problem to have the same name more than once. Synchronization works. Have a look in the properties, filename  and you see the associated file.

Synchronization works as expected. But think about the options of synchronize.

If you import code EA uses the name. What you can do:
  • Create a class
  • Set the filename in properties to the file
  • Synchronize with code (look at the settings)

Code generation is a little tricky.

Hello,

I'm not sure I got the right picture.

The usual procedure is to import code into EA. After changes you synchronize the wanted classes.

If you import code for an existing class (name is important, not the location) EA will update this class. If no one exists it creates a new one.

Hi,

I've to admit: You are right!!!

If I use the font Calibri 7.5 it works.

Thanks,

Helmut

Thanks for the advice. I checked it. No change.

If I change the diagram standard font to Arial Narrow it's a lot better but not solved.

Thanks a lot.

Bugs and Issues / Different rendering of Diagrams on different PC, p
« on: March 07, 2014, 11:40:06 pm »
Hello,

since some time Diagrams are rendered differently on two Computers.

I use the same *.eap file and copy it per USB. One Computer has pretty Diagrams where the text fits well. The other Computer needs for the same text more place. The result insn't enjoyable. In activty diagrams the actions on one Computer are ok. On the other the actions are overlapping.

I checked the diagram options in tools options. I see no difference.

I tested it with other Computers. No problem, as expected.

I have no idea.

Any idea?

Thanks!!

Bugs and Issues / Sort of Axe in Relationship Matrix
« on: March 06, 2014, 08:05:10 pm »
Hi,

I made a SQL Query with sorting for a Relationship Matrix.

EA ignores SQL sorting. The option Sort Axe has no influence on sorting.

This is for EA10 + EA11.

Version Control has a lot of pros and cons. In this forum there are a lot of threads about it.

Be aware you have to pay something for Version Control:
- Performance
- Some peculier things that take your time and sometimes nerves
- Cross Package dependencies sometimes causing trouble
- I would prefer EA 10 because of some improvements

If you like Version Control and you need it it's worth trying it.

I'm working with safety relevant Software. Therefore Version Control is no question.  Sometimes it's a good thing to simply undo your changes or to get back to an previous version. It's more systematic but it takes its price.

Bugs and Issues / Re: Multiple fragments generation in documentation
« on: February 06, 2014, 02:54:32 am »
Hello,

I would make a master document with two or more packages to reference to:
1. The first package for the project summary
    Use a package without childs
A template with a fragment template/script as you have described
2. The package(s) for your documentation
Here you don't need to use the fragment template

The first package has the only task to output the project summary.

Bugs and Issues / Re: DAO.QueryDef[3131] While executing query in .e
« on: January 10, 2014, 08:56:29 pm »
Hello,

use the macros:
#DB=ORACLE# for Oracle specific things
#DB=JET# for *.eap specific things

As I remeber right *.eap (JET/ACCESS) has problems with INNER JOINS. You may replace them by a where clause. There are some other differences. Look at the error text in dberr.txt.

Hi,

in %appdata%Sparx System\EA\dberr.txt
you see the SQL string and the original error message.

In complex queries you usually have to adopt the query to your DB (ORACLE). You can do this by a macro like #DB=SQLSVR# (only if you use different DBs).

Another possibility is to install the Oracle developer to test your query with a native tool. For complex queries this is my preferred way.
