You might be just right, the problem is that referencing an object through tag value is "legal" but not reflected in any way as a relationship, right or wrong - it is a little confusing...

Suggestions and Requests / Relations here, there and every where...

Relations between elements in EA can be created at least in three different ways:
- Connectors
- Reference through tagged values
- Nesting in project tree

All of this create relation between elements, which creates a few problems:
- Only connector relations are seen in relationship view.
- Only connector relations are seen in diagrams ( even nested packages not show nested in diagram!).
- If I reference an element through a tagged value and add the same tagged to the referenced element I won't see the referencing element.
- When coding an adding I need to look for relation through three different paths.

I think I would expect all type of relations to be implicitly represented in the under lying model by connectors. This way all relationship would show in diagrams (as they should in a graphic tool) and I could search them all the same way. Specially because I believe a relationship is a relationship is a relationship...

I know this would be a big change for EA, but I think it is a very important and principal one (modeling wise speaking).

Suggestions and Requests / Re: multiple selection and tagged value
« on: March 22, 2008, 08:24:12 pm »
I've been having the same problem, how do I select multiple values of an enumeration or have multiple instances ot the tagged value. then I discovered a bug: If you add the same tagged value type several times it actually adds all of them, but shows only one.
I noticed it because when I deleted one of the instances - another one was shown...

I think that the discussion forum in general has the potencial of being a very powerfull tool.
Maybe Sparx should just copy the behavior of a standard forum or let EA have some attribute referring it to some web forum which will be opened instead (if the deployment includes such)

Suggestions and Requests / Reports for the whole repository

I think having the option to publish a report (rtf/HTML) for the whole repository is a must!
We use diferent root nodes for diferent modules of the project and it is certainly a srowback.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: Requirements should show links
« on: January 29, 2008, 09:33:24 pm »
I noticed now a ery ridiculous situation - I can freely add links from requirements to requirements\changes\issues, but the only way to delete them is through relationship matrix (which is not realy user friendly).
This is bad.....

Through relationship window

Right you are. thanks for the comment.
Yet it is confusing not to have the "links" tab for the requirements, also i don't really understand the reason for it...

It is VERY problematic that I can see links to resuirements from other elements, but not from requirements to elements.

What about Visual studio users?

I think I would need a further explanation.
What tab would you expectto be default for each type of element? What context will "defaultize" the tabs?

I guess it would require a topic for it...might work (as workarround).
