Suggestions and Requests / Re: WebEA view child diagrams
« on: July 17, 2018, 09:21:47 am »
However in WebEA if you click on any element with a child diagram, you are taken to the elements property sheet, from which there is no way to navigate to the child diagram !
With the release of ProCloud Server Version 2.1 Build 18, WebEA has a Composite Diagram field in the element properties section that links to the child diagram.

Suggestions and Requests / Re: BUG: Soap / WSDL Headers

Try sending-in a sample EAP file replicating your problem to Sparx Support ( ). We should be able to tell you why the WSDL Generator is ignoring the contents of the "Header" field.

Hello David,

The "Header" text-box in the "WSDL Binding Parameter Details" dialog is used to store SOAP and HTTP header information for the <input> and <output> elements of a binding operation.

Refer to the following diagram which shows a snapshot of a sample WSDL binding:

The contents of the <soap:header> elements go as-it-is into the "Header" text-box.
Upon WSDL generation, EA will just copy the contents of this text-box to the output.

I located the lane in the browser, did CTRL-L, and linked in the Actor, but when selecting the actor and going to the traceability window, there was no evidence of it being linked in any way to the lane.

Try selecting Classifiers in the Relationship Selector ( the button before the Help button in the Traceability window toolbar )

You need to specify the file path before generating the XML Schema.

Set the file path using the Select XML File dialog that pops up when an entry in the list-box in the Child Package Options group-box is double-clicked.

1. When you drag & drop an Element icon from the XML Schema tool-box into a XSDcomplexType class, the tag position will be automatically added on the created XSDelement.

2. To order the connectors, try setting the tag position on the Connector Source ( in the Tagged Values window )

Hi daveo,

The lines 2 - 15 in your input file extends "uml.DTD". EA does not support such an inline DTD extension. Delete these lines and then import the file into EA.

General Board / Re: Export of models as EMF compatible XMI
« on: April 12, 2007, 02:23:14 pm »
from what we can tell the EMF only like EMF flavored XMI. Some other vendors offer EMF XMI export for this purpose.
is this something we can do with EA?

EA does not export EMF compatible XMI.

On a related topic, has anyone successfully imported EMF compatible XMI into EA (the current version)?

The current Build of EA can import EMX files generated by RSA 6.0. But to import those generated by RSA 7.0, you need to make a couple of modifications to the EMX file :

1. Remove all <element xsi:nil="true"/> elements
2. Change the value of the following namespace-prefixes in <xmi:XMI> element to :

   uml -
   umlnotation -

We have updated Build 810 to import the newer version of EMX correctly.

Hello Mike,

We did have a few issues in round-tripping sequence diagrams in the older Builds of EA.

Try downloading the latest Build ( or a trial version if your registeration has expired ) and see if it solves your issue.
