Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / DOORS MDG
« on: February 09, 2016, 09:17:06 am »
Is there any word if there will be a DOORS Next Gen MDG Link? Or a OSLC MDG Link?

We would also like to see the current DOORS MDG support importing requirement to requirements links. Is Sparx working on this?

If I install the WAN Optimizer do I still have the choice of connecting directly to db without the WAN Optimizer?

General Board / WAN Optimizer

I found the WAN Optimizer setup file. I have also looked in the help file.

I would like to find the instructions for setting up the WAN Optimizer. I am sure I had copy a long time ago but I can't find it.

General Board / What is the best database for the EA datastore?
« on: January 18, 2013, 10:54:51 am »
We are about to setup EA. What are the pros and cons of different databases for EA? We have a user base of 5 users. Some users will connect over WAN connection. We were thinking PostgreSQL might be a good choose.

Bugs and Issues / Update Script for PostgreSQL Repository
« on: April 23, 2014, 06:41:57 am »
Do I need to run the update script for a new PG Repository? I only assume I do is because the date of the SQL to create it is 21 Jan 2010.

I don't see a "run patch" menu item.

http://www.sparxsystems.com/resources/corporate/

"Also listed with each DBMS are update scripts, designed to improve performance on model repositories which were created using scripts downloaded prior to February 10, 2010. The update scripts add indexes to the database schema.
Note: To apply the update scripts, open the existing repository model. From the Tools menu select Run Patch."

Do either the DOORS Absolute Number or the DOORS Object Identifier need to be mapped for the sync to work? Or does EA do the mapping in the background?

If we are using the DOORS MGD Link. When we do a Synchronization of imported DOORS® modules I assume we will not loose any links we made in EA.

What EA use as it's Key/ID from DOORS to EA. Is it in the t_connector table or t_object table?

Automation Interface, Add-Ins and Tools / WAN Optimizer Configuration
« on: April 25, 2014, 07:29:01 am »
I am configuring the WAN Optimizer for Microsoft SQL 2008 with SQL Authentication. EA V10.07

It seems like I need to add each user in the Database Manager / Configuration Client. The only way it seems to work is to also save the db passwords. Does this sound right? My issue is that it save the passwords in the clear.

We want to add stop lights to a diagram. We would like the lights to change from values taken from a table. I am thinking I can set a new object in the t_diagramobjects table ObjectStyle field.

Has anyone done this before?

Here is a sample value of the ObjectStyle field, ImageID points to the image:

DUID=9D4FF01B;NSL=0;BCol=-1;BFol=-1;LCol=-1;LWth=-1;fontsz=0;bold=0;black=
0;italic=0;ul=0;charset=0;pitch=0;ImageID=408816035;LBL=CX=181:CY=24:OX=0:OY=0:HDN=0:BLD=0:ITA=0:UND=0:
CLR=-1:ALN=0:ALT=0:ROT=0;
