General Board / Issue Tracking
« on: July 27, 2008, 12:09:14 am »
Hi Everyone,

After a long absence I'm finally surfacing.   Hope all is well with everyone.

Question: what issue/enhancement/task tracking and scheduling tool do people use that interface with EA?

Thanks in advance,

General Board / Download Page
« on: November 15, 2005, 11:37:35 am »
Hi Everyone,

Sorry to bother y'all but is the registered user download page reflecting older versions of EA and does not have a link to the new 6.0 beta page... or is this just on my machine?

Thanks in advance,

General Board / Method impact
« on: February 18, 2004, 01:30:13 pm »
Hi everyone (long time I know)...

Does anyone have a suggestion for how a model needs to be put together to yield results for the following question:

Let's say I have a method of a class that I am about to change.   How would I find all of the Use Cases that could potentially be impacted by such a change; and, subsequently, how would I know what Test Scripts that need to be re-runned should such a change be implemented?

I look forward to some great suggestions...

General Board / EA-ReqPro 1.0 in Beta!
« on: December 22, 2002, 06:35:26 pm »
Hi all!

I am very happy to say that we've finally got to a point where we are in formal BETA with EA-ReqPro.  We've updated the Fact Sheet page off our web site with features added starting with Build 25 and now with Build 28.   All registered Alpha/Beta testers with user names and password, please download at your convenience and remember... nothing is sacred so tear it apart!

We will be working off and on over the next couple of weeks so there will be more features and things added as we approach formal release.   We've also added a press release about the Beta and will be adding a price listing and a "directional white paper" some time after the first of the year.

And speaking of that, to all of you out there, may the blessings of the Holiday Season be upon you all and your families and may this be the VERY best of New Years!

General Board / Web Site and Things
« on: December 28, 2002, 06:56:02 pm »
Hi Everyone,

Well, we've been busy working with the website so if you haven't been there lately, check it out.   We're adding "Take a Tour" of our products and what we're trying to accomplish.

We've also announced the opening of Alpha Testing for our newest product: EA-QA.   Applications for Alpha testers are available from our site.   We hope that with this you can see EXACTLY where were are going and what we're trying to shake out in the industry.

Again, thanks to everyone for your support and have the Best of the New Year!

General Board / World-eIT Web Site
« on: October 26, 2002, 03:30:36 pm »
Hi Everyone,

I've completely re-done the web site and have added new direct email links for questions, registration, and support.  I will be making addition to the site in the days ahead.   It is still located at:

And yes, there is a "small" new news item.   We're almost ready to accept alpha testers... I have to get the alpha/beta test form done.   I also have to put together a fact sheet on the new product but you can visit the site and get a general sense about it.   I'm curious to know, either here on via the new email addresses, what you think about the idea.

If any of you are using the email address, I will be monitoring it for the next 30 days but then I'll discontinue it after that and stick with the new email addresses on the contact page of our web site.

Again, thanks to everyone and their patience.   Let me know what you think.

General Board / Update on things
« on: September 09, 2002, 09:52:37 am »
Hi Y'all,

Again, thanks to everyone for your patience on me getting the web site back up and running.   I haven't spent too much time on it recently because of a few new items that I hope to announce shortly.   There will be a couple of new add-on tools that we hope to come out with in either alpha or beta stages and EAToolkiT will be changing significantly in focus.

In that, I'm wondering if anyone would care to jump in and answer a small survey of things so I know people's thoughts and things.

1.  Does anyone use SIX SIGMA?
2.  Would anyone like to follow a RUP process yet tied to EA?
3.  Does anyone use an AS IS process map?
4.  Would anyone like to see functional requirements separated YET TIED specifically to USE CASE diagrams and processes?
5.  What project manager is used the most?
6.  Finally, what testing manager is used the most?

Thanks and again, I hope to give some clarity on these things shortly.

General Board / Brief Update
« on: May 12, 2002, 11:48:36 am »
Hi All,

I just uploaded Build 102.  The only thing here at the moment is the ability to generate a Licsense file.   This will include all the information need to register the EAToolkiT.   This should streamline the process GREATLY.   This file needs to be emailed to

If there are any problems with this, just let me know.

General Board / Build 487
« on: May 07, 2002, 10:55:47 am »

I just wanted to jump in and say "Great Job" on the HTML generation stuff.   The hyperlinks on even the diagrams is a great thing and well done.   I'm going to try to incorporate thie files (and folders as I found out) in our Intranet side and see how it ties in.

Also, I'm NOW going to go back through the past chapters and add some of the global switches and things as well as move forward with adding the USE CASE stuff.

And if I have time, I'll go back and see how I can incorporate some of the HTML stuff I generate (like alert pages) into the overall design of what you have done.

Again... thanks MUCH!!!

General Board / EATutorial
« on: May 04, 2002, 05:44:53 pm »
Hi again,

Per a great suggestion, I've broken the EATutorial down into separate chapters.  Each chapter is an individual PDF file with a table of links off the appropriate page on the web site.   We're still working now on Chapter 6 (USE CASE diagrams) so this will be updated next.

Also, we're going to modify the EATookiT to generate a registration / license file to email to us.  The main thing right now to register is a valid return-able email address (e.g. Roberto, the email you sent can not be returned to you for some reason).   We'll post a new announcement when this gets added.

Thanks again,

General Board / EAToolkiT 1.01
« on: May 02, 2002, 08:47:52 am »
Hi Y'All,

First, my sincere apology for all the problems with the last release.  I'm going to have to double / tripple check everthing before releasing.   To those that pointed out problems, many many THANKS and let me know if the current process has any hickups.

Here's what's new...

We changed BACK to the original installation program.  This is not what I want to use and until I can get GKSetup to recognize certain files we'll have to stick with it.   This means that the "file not found" messages should not appear during the installation process.

We added a small dialog window for non-registered users the number of times and date expiration left with the product.  This should not appear for registered users.

The email address should NOW be activated.   Eventually, this will move to dedicated email addresses with  That will come down the road.

On some slower machines there was a NULL_PTR error when the application terminated.  I doubt if anyone is running a 233 mghz machine but that's where we discovered the problem.  Hopefully, this has been corrected as well.

The download file is back to .ZIP format.

I also want to personally thank Gary Wong and others with checking on the EATutorial.   We're moving along with the USE CASE and scenario chapter and should have another update shortly.

Again, thank you all and do let me know if there are any new problems.

General Board / EAToolkit / EATutorial / Update
« on: April 23, 2002, 01:10:42 pm »
Hi Y'all,

Well, we finally made the changes to our web site to support server side includes and are getting things back on even keel.

With that in mind, we're happy to announce the following:

The release of EATookit version 1.1.   We've included lots of new reports and features.  This version REMAINS a FREE utility for anyone using EA.

The release of EATutorial.  We've added a couple of new chapters.  One chapter now covers all of the dockable VIEW options, each of the data entry windows, table formats, and AUTHOR / OBJECT_IT associations.   The other chapter is the start of the complete EAP table descriptions and associations.

Both items including a new EA Process page (additional software) can be viewed at:

Please make sure that you use the "shtm" extension.

Again, hope this helps people and the EA community.

General Board / Brief Update
« on: April 15, 2002, 07:47:04 am »
Hi All,

Just a brief update... our extra support web site has been down a few days as we try to move to server side include files.  I hope to have things corrected this week sometime.

When the web site gets back in order I'll let ya know.  When it is available I hope to have a NEW version of the "tutorial" with extra chapters.   In addition I hope to have a NEW version of EAToolkiT with new reports and new features.

Thanks for your patience...

General Board / EAToolkiT 1.0 Released
« on: March 21, 2002, 08:02:35 am »
Hi All,

We are happy to announce that version 1.0 of EAToolkiT is now available for download.   This application works with .EAP files to provide the follow additional support:

- Additional Reports for Project, Resource, Object, Test Script, Defects/Changes, and lots more.
- All Reports Can be Generated to ASCII Text Files, CSV files, Printer, or HTML pages.
- Alert Conditions can be set for Gree, Yellow, and Red Conditions
- Dynmaic Alert Pages generated with appropriate image colors based on   condition.
- HTML pages can be generated with a TEMPLATE page.  If the HTML page is selected as a "template" during HTML generation contains the tag:

       <!-- EATOOLKIT INSERT -->

on a line by itself, EAToolkiT will generate HTML information at that location within the template HTML file and generate this information to the specified HTML page.
- HTML Background and Text colors can be set.
- Printer Font and Layout can be set for all printer-base reports
- Tip of the Day Window available
- Main application window position and size remembered at the close of session
- Ability to add RESOURCES from MS Project Files saved in MDB format.  These project resources can be added as Model Authors, Resources, or both within EA.
- Items within EA that are "object" based can be moved to another Object within the EA file.
- External Files associated within the EA file can be updated with File Size and Date information should this information be missing.  This is caused by external files being introduced to the EAP file before date and time information was captured
- External Files are compared with entered date and time stamp.  If the information contained within the EAP file is different, EAToolkiT will note this.
- External Files are compared with the time stamp of the EAP file and if they are newer than the EAP file, notification is generated.
- Table structures and table contents for all items contained within the EAP file can be generated as a report.
- Most column selection windows have the ability to select or deslect all items within the list.

You can download this free (for the moment) utility at a NEW dedicated EA Add-On Support Site:

If you have problems, comments, suggestions, or whatever, please use this site to post them.

Thanks again to all of you and to Geoff and Paul for making an awesome product!
