General Board / Re: Creating New Toolboxes and associated Icons

Really? Oh dear. And first item on my list for Santa was to combine the Eastern and Western islands and make Jacinta Ahern our PM too. NOW what do we do? Ummm - Mr Trudeau....?

Not exactly. 'Glassboy' is a user over in New Zealand. He is the 'Good Boy' accumulating karma. He must be following the example set by his Prime Minister.

I am a user in Australia who isn't really accumulating karma. Probably because I am also one of those devilish Sparx Employees too.  Or perhaps because my revolving door Prime Ministers don't set any good examples to follow.

Two different people.

Actually, that was Glassboy. 'Karma' is the number of merit or demerit points that each contributor has accrued.

As for information, start here:

General Board / Re: How to create Process Guidance pattern?
« on: December 13, 2018, 11:00:06 am »
From the Help:

"Each Process Guidance template consists of an Activity diagram, with Actions describing each step of the activity and one or more Checklists next to each Action listing the sub-steps."

You can create your own Process Guidance template as a diagram, but from that point on - as Glassboy suggests - the process depends on how you want to present the Pattern to the users - in the Resources window, in the Model Wizard or in the Toolbox. But that process would be the same as for any other Pattern (or Profile).

I admit that I don't really understand what this process is doing, but does the setting of the 'Ignore Element and Property Visibility' option make a difference?  Or the Scope of the Association Ends?

From the Help:
"Click on this option to include all Classes, Attributes and Association End roles in the GML Application Schema, irrespective of their visibility (or Scope). Otherwise, only those with Public visibility will be considered for generation."

Not exactly. On a specific diagram, try playing with the options in the Layout > Alignment > 'box' drop-down menu (the 'box' being the icon in the bottom right corner of the 'Alignment' panel).

This will be in the next release of the Help. The _HideUmlLinks attribute is already there, I believe, in the Special Attributes topic, but I have added a reference in the Hide Default Quick Linker Settings topic as well.

General Board / Re: Cannot move state machine diagram between packages

See Takeshi's post.

I don't know if Takeshi has reported the bug, but you could still do it too. Select the 'Support > Report a bug' option at the bottom of the web page and simply say that a UML State Machine diagram created directly under an element OTHER THAN a State Machine element does not have a frame, but displays an error message saying it DOES have a frame if you try to move the diagram. Include a reference to this forum thread in the bug report.

The alternative method, if it fits in with your model structure, is to create your StateMachine diagram as a child of a StateMachine element, and then hide the frame.

Ahhh - now I see. I tested with SysML diagrams and a StateMachine diagram under a StateMachine node. Thanks for the clarification, Takeshi.

Not sure why daygp would have had a problem, though.

So have Sparx Support been notified, and have they commented?

Let's get this clear...

You have a StateMachine diagram that you are trying to move, and you get the error message:

'Diagram frame(s) are currently being displayed
Please disable them and save the diagram(s) before continuing'

If this message displays, you should have a border around your diagram (or a section of your diagram), with a small box in the top left corner identifying the parent element. If this is not the case something is wrong and you should report a bug.

If you have a frame around the diagram (or part of the diagram) you can right-click on the background of the diagram to display a context menu that provides the option 'Hide Diagram Frame'. If that option is not listed (and you do have a frame on the State Machine diagram) something is wrong and you should report a bug.

If you think that there might be a frame assigned to a StateMachine or SysML diagram, but you can't see it, right-click on the diagram background and see if the 'Show Diagram Frame' option is listed. If that option is not shown, there is no diagram frame on the diagram. If the option is shown, select it to display the diagram frame.

Let us know if your problem persists.

Quote from 'Forum Etiquette', a sticky post at the top of this category:

"Use of the user forum is entirely voluntary and imposes no obligation on anyone to contribute, whether that be the general user audience or Sparx employees. So, if you post a request, it is possible that you might not get a response."

There is, in Release 14.1, a UML::Package Toolbox, although the published Help does not yet reflect that.

Originally, Package diagrams were populated using the UML::Class Toolbox, which is why a UML::Package Toolbox was not in the list you have seen in the EA Release 10 Help.

I think the Package Toolbox was released after EA 13.0, but the best thing to do is - as KP suggests - try referring to UML::Package and see if it is recognized. If not, and depending on what you are doing with the Package diagram, refer to the UML::Metamodel or UML::Profile Toolboxes as Geert suggests, or the UML::Class Toolbox.

And notify Sparx Support too.

I have edited these posts. The thread was not necessary and was not helping the original user in their request for support.

Please try to be helpful, kind and constructive in your postings on this forum.

General Board / Re: How to remove my Stereotypes from the list - EA 14
« on: October 23, 2018, 10:31:50 am »
Using the Ribbon option.

Firstly, check that you can accurately identify the stereotypes you want to get rid of. Duplicate stereotype names crop up quite regularly, and you don't want to remove the wrong ones.

Select the Configure ribbon, then Reference Data > UML Types. On the Stereotypes page, locate and select the stereotype to delete, then click on the Delete button.

I can't find anywhere in the Help files that refers to the ribbon path that you quote, Paolo. All references are to the correct path that Geert quotes, and the 'Modified Date' field on the text element is at least 6 months ago.  Where did you see the incorrect ribbon path?
