Why don't you let users download it and test it, this way you get the feedback.

my two cents

General Board / Re: Relationship Matrix

That is how you create the Relationship Matrix in EA, you drag it in top of the element, this is how is done when you want to create a  Relationship Matrix between Requirements and Use Cases.
It works pretty nice.

After you create a Sequence Diagram by dragging classes to the Sequence Diagram as instance (creating your lifeline), then you drag your requirements to the Object Class, works for me in version 11.

If you drop the requirement imported (elements) to the Class (element-objects) inside the Sequence Diagram, you can see the link of the requirement inside the Class, go to Rules, Requirements.

Now you can create your Matrix, betwen those 2 packages (Requirement and Sequence).

You can only create the Matrix betweel elements of different Diagram, not the Diagram itself.

Hi Ian

Don't know if I am understanding you correctly, but you can add a Tagged Value to UC , call it UC Estimate and add a value, or if you need to do this in a step of a structured scenarion you have 3 columns that you can use to add any value here: Uses, Result and State.

Modeling business Rules is only in the Extended Suites of Products, like the Engineering ones.

But there are different ways to do this.

General Board / Re: User Interface diagram - checked checkbox
« on: May 30, 2014, 12:35:25 am »
After you place your GUI element -> Checkbox in the Diagram
Enter in the name field the ASCII value for check mark which is 251
Hold Alt key and enter 251
the check mark will appear
slide the element until the check mark is inside the checkbox

Hope it helps

Also recommend the same book, but I disagree at not to use both only when needed. You are correct on on a small Use Case with only a Basic and Alternate path that text is better.
But my experience tells me that presenting an Activity Diagram right before the Use Case scenario, if is only one Alternate, the reader will undestand better the UC flow.
Remember this chinese proverb "A picture is worth a thousand words"

For screen design I use Screen Architect whcih works with EA

But in this case your work around would be look for an ASCII table and select the check mark which is ALT+251, under the control GUI Element: checkbox insert this character into the the name field by pressing ALT +251, minimize the checkbox to the square and voila you have it.

General Board / Use Case - Uses and Result
« on: October 26, 2013, 03:27:04 am »
Hi All

I use very often in my Use Cases the Uses and Result columns in each step. The Uses -> I use it for my Business Rule or message at the step level, same for the Result -> I use it for the Log Event, which database to write and what to write.

My question is how can I add a word before the Uses and Result and print them only if the step has a Uses or Result.

If I add the 2 words, it allways print them and it doesn't look good, see my example:

1. User inputs name Uses BR01
2. User imputs last name  Uses BR02
3. User inputs email Uses - No Busines Rule, but still prints Uses

{Scenario_Structured.Step}. {Scenario_Structured.Action} Uses {Scenario_Structured.Uses} Result {Scenario_Structured.Result}

Is there a way to exclude the "Uses" and "Result" word  if nothing is included at the column level, if I don't include the "Uses" and "Result", everything works great, it only print if we have someting in the column.

Thanks in advance

General Board / Re: Including Scenario Alternate Path Join in temp
« on: August 17, 2013, 04:16:01 am »

Have you added a step to the Alternate?
If not, you always have to have a step in any path in order for the join to work.
After adding the step, set the join correctly, save it and then generate.
You will see it now.

General Board / Re: Catch output from executable
« on: May 18, 2013, 12:50:43 am »

I remember this happened to me long time ago (5+ years), but not with EA. How I solved it was alocating memory to the execuatable via the parent program.
Don't know how to do that with EA.

Run the Basic Template from your Requirement package, this could be what you are looking for.
