Bugs and Issues / Re: Link to element feature
« on: January 12, 2010, 11:30:31 am »
I duplicated this as a package I could give to EA to help replicate the problem.

Here is another picture showing connectors that don't work well.

As for the selection point offset bug (which I have been frustrated by often before), to paraphrase
" I've clicked everywhere man, I've clicked everywhere
I've clicked the line itself man, I've clicked the crows feet too, man
Of clicking I've had my share man, I've clicked everywhere
I've clicked near and far, left and right, up and down, slow and quick, I've clicked everywhere man"

Hmmm, the Diagram | Save Image has a bug, it truncated part of the diagram. See the screen capture

Note that the Meshblock to Address connector is not selectable any more.
The AddressHistory MeshblockHistory can only be selected at the very end where the feature is not enabled.

Currently I can't turn the feature off as I can't select the these two connectors where I need to to gain access to the context menu.

What a neat new feature.
Very useful for data modelling.

But seems to have some teething problems
1) note poor positioning of some open rectangles
2) note incorrect positioning of line end in one example
2) where line has feature enabled for both ends in some cases it is no longer selectable

Bugs and Issues / Re: Foreign Keys
« on: January 12, 2010, 08:55:27 am »
Hi Paulo, thanks for your help.
The diagram properties are more or less at the defaults, including Information Engineering as the default, and barring showing stereo types.
Label visibility is set to show all labels.
This is part of what puzzled me.
Having set up the foreign key relationship (evidenced by the FK shown in the MeshblockHistory table), which included cardinalities, they do not show up on the diagram,
or in the association properties!

OK, being a bit disingenuous here, because I went and read the documentation and found the answer.

This is an example where order matters. To quote from "Click on the Table to contain the Foreign Key (source) and draw the connector to the other Table (target)."

So, well and good, I create a new association in the correct order, and manage to create a foreign key (see image).

But I don't see the connector labels appearing as is implied by the documentation.
And I don't see the relationship appear in the FK dialogue box.
Am I missing something.

Finally, in my excitement of creating a foreign key I forget to set the correct cardinality,
but blowed if I can find out how to see the (default) values that were entered, or where to change them.

Suggestions and comments welcome.

I'm struggling with foreight keys, while doing a little bit of physical data modelling (somebody has to).

In the above diag I have created an association, selected Foreign Keys from the association context menus, and get the message shown.

You joining a less than select group who have encountered issues in this area.

The best thing to do is report this as a issue (see Support - Report a bug) on the footer of this forum page).

Bugs and Issues / Re: Data model - export column attributes

I'd really appreciate a quick start for the tables to join to extract
Table, Column,
I see the t_attribute table
and the in t_object some classes are the tables I want, I'm guessing to use Stereotype to select them.

I'm hasppy to post my script afterwards

Hmmm, thanks for the quick reply.
I guess I'll have to find my way around the data model.
I've just had a "quick look" and it appears that there are no relationships (referential integrity) defined, or is that just my import not picking them up?

Bugs and Issues / Data model - export column attributes
« on: December 23, 2009, 12:14:35 pm »
A question for which I am seeking assistance.

How would I go about extracting and exporting to a spreadsheet (or CSV) a list of all tables, their columns, and attribute details (eg name, type, length, PK, FK, not null, unique, ...) from a package (and all sub packages)?

dem's dangerous thoughts thinks I as I thinks to meself, demmed dangerous, earthlings might appreciate better service and visibility of issues, and be able to subscribe to updates :exclamation
dey might report fewer bugs that have already been reported, but dey might report more new bugs seeings 'ow dey perceive bug fixing to be more effective. [smiley=vrolijk_1.gif]

Bugs and Issues / Data model - show length attribute
« on: December 23, 2009, 12:18:22 pm »
In the attributes dialogue box columns "PK, Name, Type, etc" are shown in the columns table.

How can I also display the length in that table.
I tried RMB but there is no context menu for this table in tha dialogue box.

Bugs and Issues / How to show diagram that is under an element
« on: December 10, 2009, 09:48:36 am »
I have a package, with elements, and to get the order right, a diagram under an element. See this diagram - section 1.2.3 services.

The diagram does not show in the RTF document.
Here are the document template settings I have. Note that the diagram name shows, but not the image,
any suggestions?

Bugs and Issues / Re: Non elements appearing in generated documents

I have now sent in a bug report with test case for this problem.

Bugs and Issues / Non elements appearing in generated documents
« on: November 17, 2009, 08:39:18 am »
In 849 and 850 we are seeing "non elements" (such as boundaries) appearing in generated RTF documents in some circumstances as child elements.

Has anyone else observed this behaviour?

It appears different from previous versions (ie documents that used to look OK are now different), and looks buggy.
