Bugs and Issues / Re: Diagram element Align keyboard shortcut don't work

Rotate the screen? Does it have servos?
Probably you have some Windoze settings that capture the key combination.

IIRC it is the display chipset software not native windows.  Most have configurable key combinations.  There seems to be an unofficial convention tho for what the defaults are.  It may even be in the WHQL specs somewhere.

We've had a lot of fun when people leave their machines unlocked by software rotating one monitor, physically rotating the other, and changing their mouse to left handed.

Are you saying that all displays are running at 200% DPI scaling, or are you running mixed scaling?
Mixed scaling - the Desktop screens are running at 100%

This may not be a strictly EA problem.  I was recently helping out with some debugging and it looks like things can get weird with mixed scaling and surface screens.  In the advanced systems settings you can turn off a lot of the visual effects like windows animations (sorry can't tell you the exact menu 'cause my work laptop is locked down).  Try setting it to performance so all the visual effects are turned off and try again.  From my experience that will make scaling problems go away or get much much worse :-)  If it does make a big difference you can then progressively activate the effects until you find what is causing the window to misbehave.

Please do not create Zombie threads.  If you have an issue create a post in the appropriate board, in this case Bugs and Issues.

Don't under estimate yourself. You are travelling forward into the future one second at a time.

In a block universe that is reference frame dependent.

It seems like you are operating across a WAN, you really need to use the WAN accelerator.  As well as decreasing the chatter across the wire it's going to simplify the authentication across domains.

Bugs and Issues / Re: v14 long lasting bugs

New features could drive sales.  A bug that gets very few reports - beyond the mavens here - probably are not cost effective to fix outside of when the code that contains them is being refactored.
Good point.
Wonder how many reports they got on PNG transparency issue.

Not enough :-)  It's got better.  Now I can save the diagram to a file and use it fine.  I just can't use the clipboard.  It's not great on putting labels onto an alternative image but now I can create some very pretty pictures.

I guess sometimes its more interesting for developers to add new features than it is to fix bugs.

I'm really tired with situation of bugs remaining unresolved for long period of time.

Like not properly handling transparency of PNGs?

Thanks for the comments.

A in both projects is same application

A model is a view of a [mythical] now state.  Your project 1 is a past state and your project 2 is a future state.  If you want them to be different you need to model them differently.  A diagram is not a picture (although your project 1 issue could be consider akin to Dorian Grey).

General Board / Re: Modelling security and security classification

However the official ArchiMate Standard does not have those risk taxonomy types defined. The easiest option would be to use the Risk Taxonomy MDG that comes with Sparx EA.

I extended ArchiMate according to one of the white papers.  I didn't really like it in practice tho'.

However that being said the Risk Taxonomy MDG looks like it might be better suited so I'd be tempted to use that rather than shoehorn it into ArchiMate notation.
The most important thing is to understand the metamodel for your security group and the viewpoints they need - find some examples and use them for guidance

I created a MDG for the ArchiMate notation and the original methodology it is based on.  I just have to find where I put them :-)

I have few objects like Archimate_ApplicationComponent. I want connect them by InformationFlow. In someones I can do it (I see QuickLinker box and this name of relations) but in someones I can't- when I move mouse between 2 object Ouicklinker menu are not visible.

ArchiMate application components can be connected via an ArchiMate "FLOW".  An Information Flow is a UML relationship and doesn't apply to modelling in ArchiMate.

Ha ha - I agree we don't want dumb scribble, and we want objects with meaning! I'm trying to get a balance between adopting an entire methodology to get some initially simple diagramming done.

You can do what you want using about 4 UML shapes\connectors.  What you really need to do tho' is have a look at the TOGAF content meta-model.  The methodology is less important than having a structure to your content.
