...and here I am patiently waiting for someone to say:

"Bake the hall in the candle of her brain."

+1

Seriously, I would have added +1000 if I thought it would help.

This causes me so much nuisance, that I used the clumsy toolbox method rather than the keyboard shortcuts when working on larger diagrams.

 :(

I've had a look around here, and I can't find any evidence that the Feature Request was created...

It's quite likely that I was dragged off onto something else.

OK.

I can see it now, but have to say it is very subtle.

 :)

It's something like, when you're within 10 pixels of the vertical or horizontal of the next nearest object, jump the last 10 pixels (to make the object line up vertically, or horizontally).

Now I've seen it, I'm going to try and use it regularly.

Thanks Simon.

... I know that Perl is write-only...

I prefer to say that PERL is well, WORN.

Simon, I regularly use the Align functions etc.

However, I've just spent half an hour trying to get "Smart Placement" to do something, with and without "Snap to Grid" enabled, and I haven't been able to catch it doing anything at all.

I think it may need a bit more support in the help text (if it is functioning).

Set run state is a useful feature, so I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to achieve this with that feature.

I think I'm going to have to do this with tagged values :(
along these lines:

Detail:
Type=Enum;
Values=A,B,C,D;
Default=B;

Hi people,

I'm pulling my hair out, because I believe that I've achieved this before (maybe I was dreaming).

I'm trying to create something as a base class (object, entity, whatever) which has a set of attributes, many of which are to be defined as enumerated lists.

The end product is something that I can drag onto diagrams, as an instance, and then set the "run state" for each of the attributes, by selecting values from the enumerated list associated with that attribute.

These things represent "nodes" in "workflows" so my final intention is to link these instances to each other with sequence flows.

Looks like the template editor is working in inches.

I can't find a setting to change the units of measure.

So...

What are you expecting from a USER forum?

Erm...

This is not how to submit a bug report.

See the link below (under the heading "Support" click on the "Report a bug" link)

This is a user discussion forum.

Me too.

Most annoyingly, I type homophones, i.e. words that sound the same, are spelled correctly (so spell checkers miss them) but are the wrong word for the sentence.

Yes. You can use it forever. However, after one [year] you can no longer download updates, unless you pay for the subscription for another year.

q.

I do like your (pronounced yow-er) as a concept though. It could represent any time period between an hour and a year.

Yep, I'll fix that within the your.
