EA Toolbox rendering very slow
« on: June 14, 2006, 01:45:37 am »
Hi there,

Just started using EA, and I'm finding it unusable because the painting of the toolbox is very slow. I've proven it's the toolbox by Autohiding docked windows, then using the mouse to rollover each of the hidden windows; the toobox takes 30s or so to render.

Any ideas?

I am running no other apps, and the machine spec is a 1GB RAM and a 1.6 GHz clock

Ignore this question - the problem is to do with the remote access connection I have to the office (I'm working from home).

If I kill the RA session, EA performs as it ought to. If I reinstantiate the RA session, the EA toolbox gives up.

Does EA 'phone home' excessively ?

Try to uncheck View/Visual Style/Animate Auto...
Don't know it will help in your case.
