Retrieve all version control packages?
« on: July 09, 2006, 10:26:45 am »
Hi,

A quick (and hopefully simple) question.

We're got a few folks sharing access (private model) to an EA file (which is being controlled via Starteam).

Because we often have 2 people working in the same area (i.e. use cases, for example) we've had to segment the packaging of the model to a fairly low level (we have >30 packages).

It's become a pain to ensure that you have the latest version of all packages.

Is there a quick way to automatically cause EA to retrieve the latest versions of all packages.  Heck, even if we were to grab the .xml files directly from the VC system, if we could just tell EA to refresh all of its models from disk (the .xml files) that woud be great.

Any help would be appreciated - this would be a huge timesaver...  [I hope I'm missing something simple :) ]

Thanks,

Paul.

Okay - I feel pretty stupid.  Looks like I had the model set to "Shared" (I mode which I admit I don't really understand) and thus the Get Latest and Get All Latest functionality was disabled.

Changing things to "Private" seems to have given me the functionality that I need.

D'oh.  :)
