Group Items in a sequence diagram

Hi,

My sequence diagram has many calls. Some calls are started from different threads.

For simplicity (easy to understand), I would like to group certain portions of the sequence diagram.

How can I group certain areas of a sequence diagram. I am using EA version 7.1.

Please help me.

Hello Maanu,

I prefer to use sequence diagrams for one scenario only (one concrete execution path). Only in rare situations I have two execution paths in one sequence diagram for example when I want to analyze deadlock situations.

Might be, that things get easier for you, if you try to split up your sequence diagram this way.

The diagram has only once scenario. We have a layer called application layer. The calls made to this layer are asynchronous. So calls return immediately. The result will be posted by another thread from the application layer..

I would like to group the portion till the call is made to the application layer. I also like to group another one which indicates the response from the application layer. This is to make the developers understand the design easily.
