Instance Creation in MDG Profile

I cannot get the correct instantiation type to work in my MDG Technology.   I have _instanceType attribute in my Stereotype which has a value the same as a _metatype in another Stereotype, but it does not work.  Does anyone know of any wrinkles with using this, or even better an example MDG eap with this working which I can examine.

What metaclass does the stereotype with the _instanceType attribute extend? And what metaclass does the stereotype with the _metatype extend? The latter would need to be a valid instance type of the former: for example, an Object or Part versus a Class.
