Using UML Profile in your project
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:49:52 am »
Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum and was hoping that one of you can help me here.

I want to manage requirements for our project using EA. Upon reading about Requirement Management, I created a new UML Profile. I created a new stereotype for Requirement with custom attributes specific to my project.

My problem is that now, when I import this profile in my EA Project and open the toolbar (which now has  my custom elements), I am not able to drag and drop these elements on my diagrams.

Has anyone else faced this issue while define customer elements for Requirements?

Thanks,
Conquest

What do you mean with "not able to drag&drop". Do you have a toolbox?

Most likely you made a mistake somewhere in your profile definition. EA is very unforgiving in this respect and provides little or no information as to what was the error.

I once had a trailing whitespace in the name of the  stereotype element in the toolbox profile which apparently caused EA to no to match it to the name in the stereotype profile and behave like you describe. After removing the space the element could be dropped from the toolbox.
