Relation matrix improvements
« on: December 10, 2007, 05:11:35 am »
1. filter not realized requirements (more general: filter rows/culomns according to empty/not empty) as in http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1196861504
2. filter rows/columns according to stereotype (more specific: filter for functional requirements only)

Thoughts?

Yes, I agree with both. They would certainly help, particularly as models grow.

Especially the creation of stereotyped connectors would be appreciated.

Yes Thomas. Very good point, and it would bit well with the ability to filter on stereotypes. [Why not have both sides of the coin?]

I thought that is obvious since you currently also use the filter criteria to actually have relations created that way.

The problem is that the obvious often doesn't seem to dictate the feature set. EAUI forever!

Regarding point number 2 filtering by stereotype.  If you define you stereotypes as an UML Profile then set the _metatype attribute equal to your desired stereotype name, then the stereotype will appear in the relationship matrix drop down selection.  This technique works for both elements and connectors.

The only thing you need to be really careful of is the naming of your stereotypes as width of the drop down select in the relationship matrix is very narrow.

Hi folks,

I think you will find that the new version of Time Architect (v2.0) that is available as a sneak peak from:

http://www.timearchitect.net

The datagrid allows filtering, sorting and groupby functionality on a whole bunch of EA values including stereotype...

You can also edit multiple elements at the same time!

With the filtering functionality you could very easily specify that you only want to see functional requirements and you can then click through from the grid to access the required requirements!

It also adds lots of other functionality too - take a look around the website for full details...  Don't be put off by the fact that it is promoted as a Project Management tool!  That is just one of its strengths!

I think that you should find that this does exactly what you are looking for!

The fully functional evaluation version lasts 20 days so this should give you a chance to fully try it!  It is still at the special introductory price of $100 - so give it a try...
