Is it possible to get a database schema diff for any to versions of a model and also get the ddl for the database update?

We've been waiting quite a while for this. In recent versions (up to 7.0 inclusive) there has been some progress. Search the forum for more information.

I do not know the situation with EA 7.1, but I expect [hope?] there will be some positive movement in this area.

If you are a registered users, you might want to take a look at the beta. We are currently in beta 1 (build 825), and the documentation is still lagging a bit behind the functionality. And there could be more functions added before 7.1 goes to production. Still, it might be worth working through the DDL generation process to see if you find anything useful.
