Help on the Activity Templates toolbox
« on: March 04, 2017, 06:02:08 am »
Could anyone tell me how to create new activity patterns and have them available in the corresponding section of toolbox?
Maybe I’m being clumsy, but haven’t succeed at finding any documentation about that.

Thanks a lot and regards
José

What do you mean by patterns? XML patterns to fill a diagram?

Sorry, I’ve been too long immersed in activity diagrams that I didn’t provide enough context.

When we are drawing an activity diagram, there is a section of the toolbox entitled “Activity Patterns” and showing a single pattern named “Basic Activity”. I interpreted it is a palette where we can collect fragments of diagrams that we use regularly. However, I can’t figure out how we can populate it with new patterns.

Thanks again
José

I never created activity patterns, but basically it should be the same like creating class patterns. You need to create a diagram with the pattern and save it via Diagram/Advanced/Save Diagram as UML Pattern... You can them include that in your MDG toolbox with <profileID>::<patternName>(UMLPattern).
