Can you Add "Updated by" to the Diagram Property Note?
« on: March 30, 2021, 03:05:31 am »
Is there any way to add “Updated By” to the Diagram Property Note? Right now, it has Name, Author, Version, Created, Updated as the default values displayed.  We are looking to capture who updated/modified the diagram as well as when it was Updated.

If this can be done via script, can you please explain how to do that or provide a sample script? Also how to apply the script?

We are on v15.2.

Please advise.
Thanx

You can create any Text element on a diagram. But formatting just sucks. There's only one size for the font, though you can have a little color, bold and italic. With that in mind you just create a Text element and place it where you want it to go. Sorry for not having any ready to go code.

You have two issues to solve here. Storing who performed the last update and displaying that value.

Storing will require an add-in of some sort because a script can't get the notification. Personally I'd look at model add-ins, but there are other solutions out there including an add-in that calls scripts. You also have to decide where to store the information. I'd recommend in tagged values of your diagram note.

In terms of displaying the information, I would probably define a profiled text item so that I could shape script it to display the properties I wanted.
