MDG Office 1.4 64 bits and Visual Studio 2010 prerequisite
« on: April 10, 2024, 12:50:57 am »
Hi,

I installed the latest MDG Integration for Office 64bit v1.4 to test with EA16.1
The following is stated on Sparx site in the systems requirements: "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. (Note: only needed if not installed automatically when you install Visual Studio and Microsoft Office), download here"

I tried to install it without the Ms VS2010 Runtime since I have Office installed but the MDG Office installer stops as the prerequisite is missing.
I then installed this runtime which let me install the MDG office, and uninstalled it: the integration addins works.
In the context of setting up installation packages for large organizations, having to install and uninstall this runtime doesn't sound right. It seems that MDG Office installation file is not properly packages ; would it be possible to check the dependencies ?

Hi Guillaume,

To use an Enterprise Architect plugin in the Microsoft Office interface, you must have "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime" installed. We've requested Sparx to include an option to customize during the MDG Office installation.

Thank you
