Communication Diagram - How to add Actor<->Object association/messages

I'm creating an UML communication diagram in Enterprise Architect 15.2. I am unable to create an association between an actor and an object.
Enterprise Architect states that this type is invalid between the source and target.

If I can't create an association between an actor and object, then how can I added messages between an actor and an object?

You can not make an association between those. You would need a connector between an object and an actor instance, I guess.
