«

Hi,
I would like attach notes to vertical lines (lifelines corresponding to classes) in sequence diagrams. How can we do that? I am using EA 7.1
Thanks!

Maanu,
In 8.0 you can simply use the note link to connect notes with lifelines. Is this not working in 7.1?

I do not understand your answer. Can you give the steps to follow to link a note to a lifeline?

- put a lifeline and a note on the diagram
- click on the "note link" icon in your toolbar
- drag from the note to the lifeline.

No, I mean EA does not allow a user to connect a note to a message. It should.

Alan,
I misunderstood, but yes you can connect notes to messages.
Right click on Note|Advanced|set attached links.

Geert,
Thanks! 8-)
This does seem stange that you cannot simply drag an arrow over to the message, like you can to other objects.

Works quite nicely in the build of EA I'm using. Of course it's not ready for release yet. But it's coming.

Simon, enough already, stop teasing us
It 8.1 still planned for this year, or has the release date slipped into 2011 already?

12 years later and I still only get a dialog with a list of messages in an order that does not correspond to their order in sequence and I have to guess which message I'm going to connect to (two messages that only differ by the parameter which is not shown)
Yes it does draw it when I click the select box - but ......
am I missing something?

Found it (trial and error)
Drag an arrow from the comment to the message and shift click !
To delete it you still need to go via the Advanced Set attached links menu.
