Unable to disable eaworker
« on: November 10, 2022, 09:14:19 pm »
Hi,
I tested using "Periodically generate diagram images for WebEA & Prolaborate", but since we are using an MDG and the worker does not we cannot use it.
My problem now is that I cannot disable the worker.
I've obviously disabled it in the "Configure database manager" and even deleted the connection and created a new one with the same name.

any ideas ?

/Nils

Hi Nils

You have to go to the server where PCS and EAWorker is install and kill all EAWorker.exe instances using the task manager. Or restart the server.

It’s a known issue that the EAWorker, for some reason, runs in several instances, and disabling it will only stop one instance. Not all of them.

You can also install a copy of EA on the PCS server and install the MDG there. Then the EAWorker can work with it.

Hi Nils

Glad to hear. Did you also try installing EA on the PCS server and install the MDG there?

Thanks for the update. EAWorker has some quirks that can be really annoying, or perhaps features you need to be aware of before going that route.

You can read more about it in tis thread: https://sparxsystems.com/forums/smf/index.php/topic,46789.0.html
