Web EA diagrams
« on: December 22, 2022, 11:12:03 am »
Diagrams shown in Web EA have a nice feature (in v4) that implements clickable areas so that clicking on an entity or boundary in the diagram shows the entity and the notes.

However clicking on a connector does not show the connector or its notes.
Before I submit a feature request has this been implemented in V5?, and would you support it

No it hasn't, and that is likely because a connector isn't a separate element
The same issue occurs with virtualized connector end elements (via the connector), it works great on the sparx client but in procloud services it doesn't works in the same way (can't click it just like the connector so it is impossible to see notes, and having to find the main element in the diagram isn't behavior you would like to have)

I suggest when making the feature request to fix the possibility to display virtualized elements in procloud services, which would force them to be able to abide to the notes on connectors feature request as well, and take in consideration the feature request to be able to show notes on connectors.

Personally I think it is a bug, but you also have to consider layers and filters not working on procloud services neither, which I hope being on the roadmap to add to procloud services in the near future.

Just did a small test and it looks like there is a way.
When I select an object on a diagram, I get a list of properties shown in the screen part on the right.
It shows the name, type, Notes, Usage and also a list of Relationships for this object.
Each relationship is shown in the form "<icon> <type> <icon> <related object>".
When I click on the <type>, I get redirected to another page showing the details of that relationship.

It also works when I see the Relationships on the page showing the details of an object.

PS. If you don't see the list of Relationships, you can configure what parts to see with the Settings icon in the top right corner.

Hope this helps.
