Recent projects list
« on: October 20, 2014, 07:49:47 pm »
Hello ladies and gentlemen.

I have taken over administration of an Enterprise Architect installation installed on a single terminal and shared between many users. This works great in general, except for when a new user attempts to use EA for the first time.
For first time users, the recent list contains EAExample, as well as our production and test projects. The connection string for production and test are out-of-date though, and need to be updated.

So my question is: Where is this default information stored and how can it be changed?

Thank you for your time.

Best Wishes

You can find it in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sparx Systems\EA400\EA\Recent File List

I suppose your predecessor did something to the installation to make sure the recent list included your production and test project.
Normally this list would only contain EAExample for a new installation.

Hello,
I'm reopening this thread as I noticed a different behaviour on my PC with EA 16.1: the list of recent projects is maintained in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sparx Systems\EA64\EA\RecentFiles with a REG_BINARY key "ModelHistory". It is much less easy to set up/edit as it contains hex values.
The only solution I found is to prepopulate an EA with right list and export the resulting Reg tree.

I tried to create Recent File List entries but they're eventually deleting after opening and using EA16.1.
