Adding Model Views to and MDG
« on: July 05, 2023, 12:48:46 pm »
Hey all

I'm trying to add Model Views to an MDG.
Following the instructions, I check the Model Views check box on the MDG Technology Wizard - Contents page, but when I get to the page where I select which Model Views to include in the MDG, I get absolutely nothing.
There are two options I guess:

1. I am not creating the Model Views correctly,
2. There is some other magical incantation I need to perform during the MDG generation.

However, I am not sure which.
I have (or at least I believe I have) created a Model View, which appears in the Model Views pane of the Focus window.
However, none of these appear for selection during MDG generation.

Any clues?

Cheers in advance

Jays :-)

I created a new model view folder (right click->New Model View), i then added a new Search folder to this model view and then added some searches. This model view appears in the model view tab of the Generate MDG Technology command. Once the mts file is imported I get a new uneditable model view called name Views. Hope this helps
Steve

Hmmm, I think I am doing it right but still not showing up in the magic MDG generator.
Assuming I've pasted the link correctly, below is a link to a screen shot of what I have created.

Maybe you can see what I've done wrong?

Sorry, I can't access your image (blocked by my organisation). Make sure that you have the Model Views check box ticked in the MDG Technology Wizard - Contents, then the very last tab of the Wizard should be the MDG Technology Wizard - Model Views page where you can select the Model Views you have created. Note AFAIK if you only searches are included in the MDG Model Views, therefore if you have no searches they will not appear.

The only difference to your image and the way I have defined mine is that my searches are in a folder under my model view (I presume I created Search Folders as I am including searches). So between your "PRC Model View #2" and the "PRC Search 2", I have a folder and the search is in that extra folder. I have no idea whether that is significant or whether I just did that because I wanted to organise my searches into three groups. If you do that and remove the PRC Slideshow does it then work?
