Changing Attribute colors (Data Modeling)
« on: March 12, 2010, 06:25:17 am »
Does anyone know how to edit an attributes color (e.g. change the color) in AE 7.1? If this option is not available in this version, then, is this feature available at all?

Look for Standard Colors in the EA Help index. This describes the Standard Colors page of the Options dialog, on which there is an option to set the color of Attribute text.

Thanks for the response, but let me explain a little more what I'm trying to accomplish.

For example:

what if I create a Element (DB2 Table) and have 5 attributes (columns) within that table.  How can I make 1 attribute line (red) and 2 more attributes (blue), and the remainder black within the same structure.

Hi,

I'm afraid that's not possible. I've once tried the same when I wanted to emphazize a single class attribute in a diagram. Didn't find a way (7.5 850), ended up manipulating the diagram image (I only needed it for putting into an article).

As many would know, from previous postings, I support this also.    BUT it really does need to be available on a per-diagram basis.

As I've often mentioned, the competing data modelling product (Embarcadero ER/Studio) has had this for many years...

Sounds like you are using Extended Relational Analysis, yes?

NO, it hasn't.  As you can see, this has been "on the books" for over a decade.  Since, to do as I suggested, implementing on a per-diagram basis would require some more tables to be defined and populated, it is unlikely.
