Converting the Model File to HTML Report
« on: January 17, 2025, 04:00:08 am »
Hello,I use Sparx EA v16.1.1627 (Ultimate Edition).I am trying to convert my model to an HTML Report, however, the commands

HTML-> Web Report:
"Standard HTML Report"
"Publish to Joomla!"

are grayed out, so I cannot click and produce the "Standard HTML Report" for the model file.

Also when I clicked on the Hamburger menu -> Documentation, whole command menu below are grayed out, so the commands cannot be executed.
Generate Documentation (RTF/PDF/DOCX)... F8
Publish as HTML... Shift+F8
Publish as Joomla! Article...
Diagrams Only Report... Ctrl+Shift+F8

Can you please help me active the command "Publish as HTML..." so that I can Publish the Model as HTML?

Hi
Unless you haven't opened an EA project, I can't see any reason why it's greyed out.

Might be related to model security.
If it works on a new local model, then it's probably that.

Thanks for your reply.
It is a local copy of the original file, and it does not work.

I can generate both HTML and docx from my local models (*.qea files) fine with both V16.1 and V17 so it must be something to do with your model.
Try disabling security on your local model that should clear any limitations you have. You'll need admin privileges and the security key to do that. If you don't have them talk to the person who administers the model.
Happy to help

Thank you for your reply.
To enable or disable security, use the following menu chain: Settings->Security->Administer->Other->Enable Security.

However, the "Enable Security" menu command is grayed out, so I cannot deselect or select the "Enable Security" option.
Hovering over it displays the tool tip "Turn security on and off (requires input of a specific password"

How do I activate the "Enable Security" menu command?

Looks like both have the same reason: you don't have enough rights to do either...
Can you check with the administrator to enable the publish rights for you?
