Internet Browser Java Applets

This topic describes the configuration requirements and procedure for debugging Java Applets running in a browser from Enterprise Architect.

Ensure binaries for the applet code to be debugged have been built with debug information.

Configure the JVM using the Java Control Panel.

In the Java Applet Runtime Settings panel, click on the View button.

On the installed version to use, include one of these options in the 'Runtime Parameters' field, depending on your environment and whether you are working on a 32-bit application or a 64-bit application:

     -agentpath:"c:\program files\sparx systems\ea\VEA\x86\SSJavaProfiler32"

     -agentpath:"c:\program files (x86)\sparx systems\ea\VEA\x86\SSJavaProfiler32"

     -agentpath:"c:\program files (x86)\sparx systems\ea\VEA\x64\SSJavaProfiler64"

In this field add the required Class paths.

At least one of these paths should include the root path of the source files to use in debugging.

Set breakpoints.

Launch the browser.
