Portals
The Portals facility provides a high level, logical grouping of Enterprise Architect's feature set, to form an entry point into specific areas of work that you might need to perform. It provides access to common tools, custom searches, window layouts and perspectives. For example, if you want to set up a project for team development, or manage the model Testing, or simulate the execution of your modeled application, you can select a Portal to identify and provide access to the facilities appropriate to that area of work. This makes it much easier to set up the work environment within the system, and carry out the relevant tasks in a smooth sequence.

Portals Window
The Portals window is a docked window to the left- or right-hand side of your Enterprise Architect work area. It consists of a selected portal with a 'bar' at the foot, through which you change the portal and adjust the display of the portal selection buttons. You can also use a short context menu to control the display of the window itself.
If the selected portal is longer than can be shown in the window, scroll buttons automatically display at the top and bottom of the portal:
Within a certain area, you can also reduce or increase the area of window occupied by the bar, by dragging the 'handle' button above the bar:
As you drag this handle down, the individual portal buttons are transferred to the bottom row of the bar as icons.
Portals
The system currently provides nine portals. Each Portal consists of a set of collapsible pages that each offers a set of related facilities.
