View Menu

During your work on your models, you might use any of a number of Enterprise Architect windows and toolbars. You can display these windows and toolbars individually or in defined configurations, as well as set the visual style of your workspace.

Project Browser

Browse and explore your models in the Project Browser; this shows the hierarchical arrangement of Packages, elements and features within the project.

Navigator

Show or hide the Navigator Toolbar, which you can use to identify the location of the Package you are currently working in, change the focus to another level of the Package's branch, perform relevant operations on the Package, and locate other Packages in the model.

Portals

Select this option to display a list of the Enterprise Architect Portals, and click on one of the options to display the corresponding Portal in the Portals window.

You can also select the Show Portals Bar option to display the Portals window. You use the Portals Bar to tailor the Portals window and reorganize the sequence of, or access to, the separate Portals.

Model Views

Create filtered views of selected areas or aspects of your project, using the Model Views window.

Summary View

Select this option to display the Summary View window, which shows a brief, read-only summary of the general properties of the currently selected:

·Element (including Packages)
·Attribute
·Operation
·Test
·Maintenance item
·Resource

 

The display refreshes immediately as you select different objects and items.

You can highlight a section of text or the complete content, and copy it to be pasted into an external document.

The Summary View does not display details for Views, Model Packages, diagrams, instances or connectors.

 

 

 

 
 

 

Traceability

Trace the relationships of an element through the project, using the Traceability window.

Properties

Select this option to edit the common properties of a selected element, in a table in the Properties window.

Notes

Create and review the explanatory text on a diagram, element, feature or connector, on the Notes window.

Add further properties to a modeling object beyond those supported by UML, by creating Tagged Values on the Tagged Values window.

Scripting

Develop scripts for querying and updating the model, using the Scripting window.

Select this option to select a shortcut or re-use function to add stock elements to the current model, or patterns and elements for additional information, from the Resources window.

Set up specific configurations of the content and layout of the Enterprise Architect workspace, and customize the User Interface menus, using the Workspaces and Commands dialog.
